| This week's RUDE NEIGHBOR :
   My Rude Neighbor Story:
For 44 yrs my mother and father have been renting an apartment in a two family house. They have had two separate neighbors above them that have been wonderful. They have also been though a couple of different landlords. The landlord now, my father and him never got along(due to rent, etc.). My father passed away. The next month the landlord came up and started requesting he needed more money. This just continued (without him doing anything around the apartment). NOW LETS GET TO THE NEW NEIGHBORS. My landlord made a one family apartment into four. I have no idea how many people live upstairs, all i know is that they collect cans, bottles, you name it from other peoples garbage and keep it in the hallway to separate and count them. Do you have any idea what they are bringing into this building? And all you hear 24-7 is cans and bottles clanging. Well my head is clanging and my landlord doesn't care cause its not green paper. I'm at the point of no return. HELP!
Beer today, gone tomorrow
  My Rude Neighbor Story:
My neighbor is a widow with 3 children. The oldest is an 18-ish boy who has taken to talking on the phone at night in the backyard, which is in earshot of our bedroom window. When I asked him if he could take his call inside, I would told to shut my f*ing window (it was). They also now have a cement patio that when they are sitting on it, they look directly into my backyard. The city says it's not illegal and I cannot use lattice work to increase the height of the fence - because that would be illegal and I cannot plant anything of size because the dirt area next to the fence is too narrow. My wife is uncomfortable in her own backyard as the son will stare at her and give her dirty looks. The police can/will do nothing and the son has taken to purposely talking at night or in the case of last night, he and his friends where shouting up at the window to annoy us after the police had been called to ask them to keep it down. Unless I can come up with a good solution, I fear this will one day come down to a physical confrontation as this kid is rude, vulgar and yells at his family as often as he annoys us. There is no talking to them, that was tried originally.

   My Rude Neighbor Story:
College kid's.Man what a bummer. For some strange reason, the upstairs apartment is always rented to young college kid's on their first time away from home. Well, after 3 1/2 years of this, the new landlords have finally got it. No pets, no parties, and if you cant afford a downpayment of $2200.00 No dice! Thank god

  My Rude Neighbor Story:
My newest neighbor is the neighbor from hell. I have lived in this apartment for a little over a year and never had any problems until 4 months ago. The way my building is built, there are two separate doors in the hallway (they seem to serve no function, but to annoy me) between my apartment and my new neighbor's apartment, 3 doors down and across the hall. He seemed decent for the first weeks he lived here and then the partying started. Starting at 7pm and going until at least 1am, when I am leaving for work, my apartment walls would shake from the extremely heavy bass coming from his apartment, even with the two doors and distance separating us. I worked overnights, spending the evenings in school, and stay at my boyfriend's on weekends so while I was annoyed, I really didn't have much time to go and complain. A couple of weeks ago, I got a promotion at work and no longer have to work overnights anymore, so now it has become a problem as I am now trying to sleep while the walls rattle. Keep in mind, this happens EVERY day. The third night of trying to sleep through this I went to his door and asked him to keep it down. He started swearing at me and saying that his aunt was the caretaker and that he would get me evicted. I called the caretaker and she came over. Sure enough, she is his aunt. She told him to turn it down and he did for the rest of the night. The next night it happened again, so I returned to his apartment, joining two of my other neighbors who were telling him to keep it down (apparently they had done this multiple times before). Once again the caretaker was called and once again she told him to keep it down. This time that only lasted for about 15 minutes. I am at the end of my rope, and I can't afford to move right now. Think I might have to deal with the hour commute and stay with my boyfriend more often.

a note patiently explaining the situation. Better yet, send over a pizza at 1am with a pleasant note attached-compliment their taste in music and vitality-yet ask them to tone it down a bit. Your neighbors are seeking approval. Rebukes for their actions will only make it worse.

   My Rude Neighbor Story:
Several months ago I felt very blessed and very fortunate when I was able to move to a beautiful apartment in a really vibrant and interesting city. The apartment I am renting is in a house and is on the first floor. There is a tenant on the second floor who has many caused problems from the start....
I could go on and on but I'll share a few of the "key" incidents. When I moved in the weather had been hot and humid and this guy keeps all kinds of fishing gear outside and the trash cans were stored beneath one of my windows. Swarms and swarms of flies came into my apartment...It looked like that one scene in the movie "The Amityville Horror." I politely asked the neighbor if his garbage can be moved further into the back yard and not be stored under my window as I thought it was contributing to the fly problem. He flips out on me and keeps his garbage can still stored under my window. Nice...
I was told by the landlord that we each had one half of the basement for storage space. He decided to put various items over on my half of the basement. These items included an old bicycle and some smelly old shoes. I took it upon myself to carry them back over to his side of the basement as there is no reasoning with this guy and politely reasoning with him. Well, after his things were moved to his side of the basement he came pounding and pounding on my door, kept screaming at me and on and on....He then put a padlock onto the basement door, locking me out of the basement so I could not access my items. This lock remained on the basement door for a couple of weeks.
The landlord had to build to separate storage cages, but meantime he reported to the landlord that I had damaged "valuable" property of his. Keep in mind before I moved his items over and the cages were built I had a few boxes stored down there that had been clearly opened and looked through. Anyhow while the cages were built the padlock remained on the door for a couple of weeks. When I asked the landlord about the legality of this it was indicated to me that the neighbor had been traumatized by me moving the old bike and the smelly shoes back over to his side of the basement
Then there's the issue that from the time I have moved into this building this guy constantly loudly stomps around above me and smashes the door shut when he comes into and out of the building. In addition, he is always shouting something over to me trying to pick a fight and yelling insults. I drew the line when my mother (who is in her sixties) was visiting me and was standing outside, minding her own business and he came by and started screaming at her and verbally attacking her.
Oh, and I do have to mention how he has taken to constantly operating this loud power saw, including after 10:00 p.m. He screamed at me because he thought my television had been too loud one morning.

  My Rude Neighbor Story:
We have lived in our townhouse for about 14 years, and neighbors have come and gone, and the ones that are living next to us now, I wish they were gone.
These people leave trash in their yard, their kids (don't know how many-but plenty), have dug this huge hole behind their backyard fence, when they have people over when they are saying Good Bye, they talk at their car, and sometimes when it is nice out I leave my windows open, this happens at 3:00 in a.m.. I just want to cry sometimes.
I leave for work earlier, since I am up anyways...LOL...and come home later so I don't have to put up with their kids running up and down the stairs...I need help. We can't move, kids in college...Help...Thinking of leaving a note, on the mailbox..and their door....

  My Rude Neighbor Story:
well let's see here, my neighbor upstairs from me she has a daughter and plus people who come over with kids..she complains about noise from my apartment when my kids are playing and this is during the day hours and calls the landlord and always starting to B***h at me and we get at it.....last summer i had cigarettes in my front yard where they throw off from her porch above and i picked them all up and threw them on her porch and she stated saying something about it and i told her and she tryed saying they wern't from them and i dont smoke, so i said keep them off my lawn....she always calling housing on me i had 2 reports she trying to throw me out and to the landlord as well and i tell him what she does her kids make noise also and they play music during the day and i dont say anything and plus what can i do its not night, but even at night her music gets loud and her tv..i bang on the wall and she starts to stomp this goes on all the time...I can go and on here about this so i guess all i can do is keep ignoring it, yeah right..
No ifs and or butts
Editor replies-Probably best not to interact with this neighbor. Just calmly throw away the trash and retain your composure Set a good example on polite and civil behavior for all to see.
  My Rude Neighbor Story:
I moved into a twin home 4 years ago, and from the get go my neighbors attached to me have been a nightmare.
Where to start? Ok as I am unloading items from the moving van my friend (helping us move) informed me that some strange, homeless looking guy was hacking down my evergreen bush with a chainsaw. I went out to investigate and he immediately struck up a conversation with me about how he's hated this bush. Well it was on my side of the property and not by a foot or two, but clearly on the other side of my yard (like 25 ft off the property line). He basically made me feel like it was my fault that this "ugly" bush was bothering him. Best yet he left me with the stump to dig out.
Then comes the parking wars. I live on a street with public parking and we all try to be courteous of one another and not park in front of each others houses, but sometimes you have to due to limited parking. I learned real quick as he describe to parking decorum for the neighborhood. The guy would literally park an inch off my bumper making it virtually impossible to get out in the morning since he left after me. So I learned a lesson to park further back to leave me room. This lead to his personal agenda to inform everybody that would listen about how rude and selfish I was by taking up so much room to park. So, I confronted him in a civil manner to address the parking. Well he was all happy and smiling about it to my face, then continues to park like a jerk.
Moving forward he and his wife , must have gotten new hours at their jobs, so they get home before my wife and I. This is great because now they purposely take up 4 spots when they park just to annoy us.
It gets better anytime he deems it necessary to be angry at us, instead of confronting us he'll do something extremely childish. For starters he'll turn his kids electric guitar all the way up and just make noise nothing more nothing less. Or he'll bang pots and pans and bang loudly on the wall. When I confront him he plays it off as he has no clue that he was loud. Half the time I have no clue that I even bother this guy. Maybe it's when I let my dog our to relieve himself and he'll briefly bark, who knows.
Good news is we sold our house, bad news is we have 55 days till settlement.
Lord help the new people in our house becuase he drove me to the edge of my sanity.

   My Rude Neighbor Story:
Since my family and I live in military housing, we assumed that everyone living in this area would have decent (if not perfect) manners - boy were we mistaken! First, we had a family whose dogs would constantly bark when they left the house - and we thought that they were bad neighbors.ha! I think we would gladly trade our current neighbors with them in a heartbeat. When our current neighbors moved into their house, my family and I befriended them instantly. Later, it turned out that they are neighbors from hell! Rude and inconsiderate, they blaze music into our ears at all hours of the night, even at 3 in the morning! Security involvement only made this worse. They watch movies so loudly that our walls vibrate, and scream at each other - daily. It is not surprising to hear banging on the seemingly paper-thin walls at any given time as well. . When they come home, they park incorrectly to block other vehicles from having enough space. They neglect any and all rules, including: the sound ordinance (set at 10 pm); limit on the number of pets (2 - they have at least 3); the no-paint rule of the housing office; and the visiting guidelines. If a guest stays more than two weeks, they must give notice about why the visitor is staying. This family - not once, but twice - had people in the home for approximately two months - without any notification to the office; one family even brought moving boxes with them when they arrived! To top it all off, for one of these groups, our neighbors gave them military stickers to put onto their car - even though this family was clearly NOT in the military. This was only done to avoid investigation of the two families. I cannot wait until we move!

   My Rude Neighbor Story:
I live in a condo that is about 35 years old. The ceiling is very thin. My neighbors upstairs were terribly noisy through the night, stomping around, and clanking some metal parts together, like they had a gym up there or something. Their cell phones would go off all night, and then, the noise would continue all morning. I didn't understand how people can go all night and all day without sleep, all week!!! So then they moved out. The owner of the condo above me came down to ask questions about the renter upstairs and I told her that "They" were constantly making noise all night and I had wondered if they had some sort of odd graveyard shift job or something....she was very disturbed that I mentioned "they" because she only had one older lady renting and made it very clear to that older lady that she was to be the only one living in the condo. Woopsies, ratted her out! There was definitely a couple living there. She told me that she was currently looking for a very quiet tenant who keeps things clean and respectful. I was happy she was being so picky about finding a new renter. And so I had about 2 months of peaceful bliss until they finally found a new renter. A new girl moved in who is far worse than the previous tenants. She parties hard 3 or 4 nights a week with her friends til about 4am. She smokes outside and her smoke fills up my front door porch seeping into my home and I do not smoke. She stomps around until 2 or 3am every single night She never leaves the house, her car is always parked She's so loud when she does have company over that I can hear her right through my walls... I know almost everything there is to know about this girl and I've never even met her. She yells and screams about how everything bad always happens to her and her family... Hmmm, some people just thrive on drama. I was awoken at 1am to her vacuuming her little bedroom just above mine at 1am, for 10 minutes! The parties and noise at night have got to stop. I mentioned to my own landlord who owns my condo unit that it has made me not want to stay here after my lease is up. She loves me and wants me to stay..
Party Patrol
   My Rude Neighbor Story:
My wife and I bought our house about 6 years ago. The neighbors on one side are up early and to bed early, dead quiet, and absolutely friendly and nice. The neighbor house on the other side sat empty for 3 or 4 years. What a fantastic time! Got to enjoy our nice big backyard, peace and quiet, etc etc.
Now fast forward to a year ago. They immediately started adding on a huge master suite to the rear of the house. The addition was so large, it took up all of their backyard that was not already taken by the old pool. I should have realized their not having any movement space in the back yard was a BAD BAD BAD sign, but...we thought improvements meant they might care about the house and neighborhood, and turn out to be great neighbors!
Just reading that makes me ill at how naive we were.
They both drive newer vehicles, but the husband's is a large loud truck. Second warning sign. They put a large bunch of seating, tables, and entertainment area out on their front porch facing the street. Big warning sign number 3. Within the first month their house turned into party central every weekend with tons of kids (every friend their kids have, apparently) running around screaming and swimming in their pool. Heck, its a back yard with a pool, no surprise. Then we notice the parents, they like to argue . And I mean ARGUE. Screaming, cussing each other out, the whole nine yards.
Things stay at that point for awhile, but within the last 5 months have gotten even worse. First they decide to put up a portable basketball hoop in their driveway, which is right outside my home office. No big deal, right? Well instead of attaching the hoop to their carport, they put this portable hoop up so the backstop is basically on our property line. So every single missed shot ends up in my front yard. So now every weekend is a constant barrage of bounced basketball noise and kids stomping around in my front yard 5 feet from the office window. Oh, and now, since they have converted their driveway into a basketball court, they now park their vehicles on the street. But in front of MY house, not theirs. Apparently it is a shorter trip from in front of my house up their drive way to their door than in front of their own door.
Final straw? They now have gotten a little yippy dog.
The last year has been pretty horrendous. We are absolutely quiet, rarely have friends over, and work a lot. The time we used to spend at home bbq-ing and enjoying the back yard are gone.
With the housing market here in Phoenix being so bad it isn't even worth it to sell the house. So we're going to rent it out.
Pooled Again
  My Rude Neighbor Story:
When we first bought the house 7 years ago, I loved that there was lots and lots
of greenery provided by many plants and trees. But after a month or so of living
there I became annoyed. A rose bush in an awkward place in front near the
corner of the drive/sidewalk. A prickly pear cactus near the walkway, which had
to be carefully avoided. A few cacti smack in the middle without any kind of
companion plantings near them. There was no "plan" to this yard. With the
mesquite tree, palm tree, Texas sage tree, a Juniper and Mediterranean
evergreens in the mix as well (all in the front yard), there was just chaos and
prickly things.
Aside from the trees and one cactus, the rest had to go. I began removing them
from the yard.
This prompted an admonishment from the neighbor woman, who yelled from across
the street at me how much the cacti were worth. She then called the previous
owner and, with her on the phone, asked if she could come over and take them. I
didn't have a problem with that. Take 'em! Then she came across to me and said
all chummy, "You know, you could have said something and I would have taken them
I'd lived there for 6 months with her throwing nasty looks at me and never even a "hello, welcome to the neighborhood."
I was just so stunned at her audacity, I couldn't speak.
Within 20 minutes, the previous owner came screeching to the house, practically
in tears, all while the woman across the street glared and huffed, and while
other neighbors up and down the street tried to pretend to not watch the show
going on.
Woman across the street never talked to me again (not that she did before).
Prickly Heat
  My Rude Neighbor Story:
I retired and moved to the Southeast. When I looked at my new house, the neighbors were very friendly, telling me about the neighborhood, etc. They were my age so I thought that things were starting off well. When I moved in, I wanted to put up a fence. I tried to have a survey done, but my neighbors refused to allow the completion of the survey. My surveyor provided me with a projected survey showing that their outdoor building was almost entirely on my property. Also, fifteen bushes were planted by them, also on what turned out to be my property. Within two days of the attempted survey, an herbicide was poured down the entire property line, missing these plants but killing mine. I had to pay for an attorney to force the completion of the survey, their building had to be moved, and the bushes are now mine to compensate me for the property damage. The problem is every time new people move in (which is happening now), they tell them I'm the ogre who stole their property. I've remained silent, but I'm getting tired of the slanderous statements. Not able to make any friends in the community because of it.

  My Rude Neighbor Story:
I moved into a duplex and before moving in , I wondered why all the previous tenants, never stayed. Well there is a weed-aholic, who lives downstairs, smoking pot all day. The smoke has blown into our home, and I have tried everything to keep it out.
Potted Plant
   My Rude Neighbor Story:
My neighbor parks his Mac truck so that it blocks my entire driveway. I can't
even back out. I bang on their door nearly every morning so they will move the truck!
Not only is it blocking my driveway, but it is against the ordinance to even park it on our residential
street. There is plenty of room between our driveways for him to park but he
refuses to pull up. I don't know why he thinks this is acceptable behavior. I've only recently started
calling the police. I asked him over and over again for 5 years to stop. I am
now fed up and that is why the police are involved.
Editor replies-you are showing good judgement in being patient. Always a good course of action.
  My Rude Neighbor Story:
We just moved to a new town a couple of months ago. Everything seemed to be going fine, until the first nice day of spring, when the next door neighbor's 3 teenage boys decided to play basketball in their driveway from about 8pm until forever. I have 2 small children who go to bed around 8, and the noise from the bouncing ball, and all their hollering was making it next to impossible for my daughter to get to sleep. So I went outside and asked them to quiet down two different times, both to no avail. Finally I called the police around 11pm because I knew there was a noise ordinance, and I was pretty fed up. The cops came, spoke to the neighbor, but did not make them stop playing... A few minutes later the dad is banging on my door and starts cussing me and telling me that his kids can do whatever the hell they want in their own driveway, and that I should just wait until summer, because they'll be out there til 2 in the morning! ... Also, they park their basketball goal in the center of the sidewalk, so my kids can't ride their bikes/scooters past their house...

   My Rude Neighbor Story:
Four years ago our lives changed. We endured the neighbors who think they are better then everyone else. They spread lies and gossip to everyone including company that comes over to our house. She even made a mistake of gossiping to my older son and his wife when they came over to visit. They sit in the front yard to watch everyone in the neighborhood. Neighbors even go in the house when they see her walking down the street. Their kids and friends play with their broken basketball hoop and not only pieces fall off of it but it is left there to put holes in car tires. They have been asked to move the hoop because when they miss the hoop the ball always comes up our driveway and hits our new car. The parents say it's only a basketball. But if a ball hit their car they would have a fit. They have even put a sign in their front yard "my kids don't poop where your dogs plays" They complain about everything we do to our front yard. Just so tired of her being rude when other neighbors aren't around. Tried calling code enforcement for the hoop problem and talked to the owners of their property. We just can't move because we own our house. What else can I do?

  My Rude Neighbor Story:
I live in a fourplex and the upstairs neighbor was nice to me when I first moved in. She had a medium sized dog that barked when someone would walk up the stairs and she would stomp around late some nights it was irritating but it was mostly tolerable and unintentional. Another neighbor would constantly yell and curse at her dog, leave notes on her door and tell her off, her yelling at the dog was more anyoing than the actual dog . She would call me at my work to complain about the girl above me and tell me how she made her cry a couple of times. Well after months of being harrassed the girl above me decided to move out. We all share a 4 car garage and there a four large city trash cans that are provided to us (one large can to each tenant) I produce little trash and therefore I take my trash can to the curb about every two weeks, however this was not good enough for her so she would start dragging my can out (even when empty) and leaving it out in the street and not taking it in. I never asked her to take it out and why would she bother to take out an empty trash can still perplexes me. After a few weeks of this odd behavior she placed notes all over the building asking all the tenants to take out their trash cans and signed the notes from the "building Management" the building is owned by one man and there is no management. So rather than argue with her I take out my practically empty can to the curb trash day.
We Can Do It Together
  My Rude Neighbor Story:
After my mom divorced her jerk of a husband, she managed to find a very nice apartment complex that wasn't too far from where we used to live. Everything started out great when we first moved here, but that soon turned into complete chaos. The kids started running around in and out of their apartments, up and down the stairs like wild animals. Plus the woman upstair's kids jump up and down and make noise and it's unbearable and SO RUDE! They jump so badly it scares my poor sister, she's disabled. And to top that all off, our tenants leave their trash all over the place, in the hallway's, in the driveway, and anywhere else. The mother upstairs is constantly leavong her son home by himself unsupervised and it's hell. Our neighbor yelled at them for throwing trash on his lawn. I can't even have any of my friend's over because of them. My mom has called the landlord and complained so many times, and He STILL hasn't done a thing about it.
I Kid You Not
  My Rude Neighbor Story:
The dog barks constantly; their response was "deal with it". Weekly night parties, and yes they have several children under the age of 6. Their kids scream for no reason. I have kids, and playing is one thing, but screaming at the top of their lungs for nothing is another. Regular music that makes my house shake. I'm at my ropes end. The last two neighbors were fine; they had weekend parties during the day and I had no issue with that.

Our "Rude Neighbor" is an older man and his wife. We have to deal with the uncovered garbage pails filled with water placed right next to our property line, breeding mosquitoes (against the law), we also have to deal with the 24/7 pounding of his axe against metal and as he breaks up painted treated wood to burn, which pours foul smelling and poisonous creosote into the air (against the law), And he drives his truck over our property, damaging things.

  My Rude Neighbor Story:
I live in a single family home that was split into two apartments; I live
upstairs. I knew my downstairs neighbor was "off" when I first moved in but
didn't really have any problems until month 3. My entryway constantly smells
like smoke from her smoking indoors when she's not supposed to. She sneaks her
garbage out to my corner and puts it in my cans to avoid buying a garbage
sticker. She just threw her xmas tree onto my side to dispose of - hello, it's
March! She hoards garbage in the garage we share; the flies and rotting trash
smell was so bad that my landlord had to get a truck to haul it all away. All
these complaints and she's STILL not evicted. She claims to be totally
"disabled" but yet she's able to garden , haul
furniture around her place at 3 am. Oh yeah, she also has a bratty grandson
that stays over EVERY wknd and holiday. They slam doors, stomp on the floors,
throw temper tantrums...it's horrible. I've banged on the floors
and swore to no avail. I move in a month.

we share a party wall and the stink: Fresh poo and pee come through

something to them, but they deny it. Wow!! They make it difficult to
prove. I do have faith in God. I must. Wish they'd move.

small, just barely enough room for 2 dogs to run, let alone 9.
The dogs were understandably frustrated at the lack of room and
attention and would bark 24/7.
Now, we are very tolerant people, but that quickly eroded after the third
night of little to no sleep. I have never heard anything like it! It was
like a movie track that just kept playing and playing! I couldn't believe
these dogs could just keep barking and barking!
So, with all those dogs, you can only imagine the volume of poop. In
the 4 months that idiot lived there, he NEVER cleaned up the poop.
We couldn't even go in our own backyard because of
the overwhelming stench and flies.
Since the dogs were always barking...none of us could sleep. Also, he had his TV set to "deafening"
well into the early morning hours. The side of his house facing ours
had 5 huge picture windows and he also didn't believe in window
coverings. This is also how we knew he never slept since he spent
many nights strutting around in his underwear pausing to flex
randomly. NOT a pretty picture from a picture window!
His favorite time of day to test his motorcycle and quads was about
midnight. He'd gleefully mount his motorcycle, still on the trailer, and
rev, rev, rev! Of course, this really got the dogs going too.
Finally, he was evicted
We had a party when he left...but our happiness was short-lived.
The next neighbor was WORSE! Single mother who never paid
attention to her eight kids and let them run rampant through the
neighborhood leaving trash and destruction in their wake. They
constantly threw their trash in our yard and would bounce balls off the
side of our newly stuccoed house...bam, bam, bam, bam. They crashed
their bikes into our garage door (lots of dents) and into our cars (more
dents).
Their most used toy was a real bullhorn that they used to spew colorful
words and to gain power in their verbal fights with each other. This
could happen at any hour of the day or night...I have no idea where the
mother was, we rarely saw her car there.
Fortunately, a very nice couple bought the house and totally fixed it up
and it is now absolutely beautiful. Everyone on the block was so
grateful, we threw them a big welcoming party!

  My Rude Neighbor Story:
They leave their dog outside of the house. Throws the food over the fence. They just leave him there. My husband told them to make the dog quit barking. Instead of letting him out. They bought a no bark collar. Now the poor dog is scared to death. He just stays in the corner. I feed him every chance I get. I already have the last dog they did the same thing to. I cant keep taking their dogs they do the same to. What can I do?

  My Rude Neighbor Story:
My neighbour's house sat for a year and to save money, she
decided not to subscribe to garbage and just dump hers on mine and
everybody else's. Our cans are sometimes so full of her thrash we can't
even put out our own. On top of that, she parks in front of our house (so
my disabled parent can't walk to our house) to annoy us
That's just garbage
  My Rude Neighbor Story:
For the last 2 years I have organized a neighborhood block party for which I
(and another neighbor) have spent a lot of money on. I always invited
everyone!!! Today my neighbor had an outside party for one of their kids....my
son was not invited even though their kids come over all the time. . The
kicker is that all of the kids showed up at my door wanting to play with my son.
So all these kids were playing in my yard unsupervised while the parents were at
the party. My son walks in and asks me if he could have something to eat over
there. I explained to him that we weren't invited and he would need to ask if he
could have some of the food. Needless to say they packed up all the food and
gave him nothing.

My normally pleasant and intelligent neighbor clips his toenails while
sitting on the stoop of our duplex, and doesn't pick up the clippings.
Totally gross. I have to struggle not to gag every time I walk to my

   My Rude Neighbor Story:
I moved into the bottom level of a duplex in a very nice neigborhood 2 years ago. When I moved in there were great neigbors upstairs. The second group were marajauna smoking crazies but quiet....the smoke was unreal and eventually they were evicted.......The next people to move in was a guy and his girlfriend and another guy....Within a short time it was realized this guy has about 5 or 6 kids all under about 12. They used to visit on and off and on weekends until recently when they started visiting about half of the time. The noise is unbearable. They are up all hours of the day and night. Neither of the adults (oh did I mention the other guy was kicked out) and I was warned he was crazy.....no one seems to work....I would say they party at least 3 or 4 times a week....At times they will sleep all day and be up all night....The stress has caused my family serious stress and upset...one morning at approx 10 am I was sleeping in and it sounded like they were moving furniture in the bedroom...I snapped and hit on the walls twice...the man came to my door beating and beating and told me off with foul language and said that his wife was "sleeping"....They are gone the first of march and I am having a party with my girlfriends to celebrate....YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Only problem is I feel very bad for their next neighbors....
Knock Three Times
   My Rude Neighbor Story:
Ok so I live in a first floor apartment. We don't party it's me and my wife, who is a graduate student studying physical therapy. All she does is study and I work late 5 nights a week. Every night I come home and shut the door the same way any other normal person does. It is impossible to close a door without making a sound. But every night the security people stop by and say "we have complaints of a slamming door" so I show them how I shut the door and point to my neighbors door 2 feet away and say that is who calls. At first people didn't believe me when I said he was a psycho, then I remind them that the prior three tenants have been evicted for "door slamming noise violations". You would think that a normal person would begin to wonder if something is wrong with this tenant. But no one listened to me for the first 6 months. Then the S*** hit the fan... He created a website about the apartment complex and these "bomb shelling" like sounds. In this website he logs every time my door opens and closes, and he even went as far as to forward the website to the apartment management. Now everyone agrees with me that this "hermit" has some major issues. I'm over it now and am about to do anything I can to annoy this guy, as long as it does not violate my lease agreements. I spent 5 years in the military and know what bomb shelling sounds like and this guy is off his rocker.

  My Rude Neighbor Story:
My family and I have lived in our 4-cluster townhome in a nice townhome subdivision in a premier school district (we each are on a corner lot)for over 11 uneventful years with wonderful neighbors; sometimes an annoyance now and then, but nothing a neighbor could not overlook..that is until recently. My neighbors of 10 years to the back of us(our back door/small fenced area is maybe 10 feet from their front door to our back door) sold their townhome to move closer to work. A single Mom purchased the townhome and moved in with her two teenage kids and apparently boyfriend came too. We were polite and welcoming when we introduced ourselves and did the neighborly thing and said if they needed anything let us know. Then went about our summer routine(stay at home mom of three kids) minding our own business. Now this was in the summer of 2010. Soon we noticed the teenage son smoked on the porch 10 feet from our back door, then we noticed boyfriend smoking and then we noticed Mom
does too...all three out there smoking at the same time and huge amounts of cigarette smoke coming into our backyard area where my daughter who has asthma then had an attack. I don't care if they smoke...I used to. I know it is a hard habit to quit. I wanted to communicate my concerns so I just politely asked them if they would mind not smoking on their front porch when our daughter is using our deck. Our sitting area is literally 2 feet (no kidding) from the porch where they are smoking. I explained politely I would appreciate it and did not offer any suggestions when and where to smoke (though she offered ways for my daughter to treat her asthma LOL) I just asked to please keep in mind our daughter has health issues and can not be around cigarette smoke. As a former smoker I would have felt awful and would have apologized profusely for causing an asthma attack in a 10 year old girl and would smoke elsewhere. But that is me. They have their own backyard that they could use as well a house where no one would care what they do. Well I guess that is when the hillbillly boyfriend got mad (never smiles, seems like he hates life, won't talk to you or look you in the eye type) and then proceeded to mark with paint their parking spots to make sure we knew where to park (lived here 11 years mind you). Did not come to us and speak to us like adults...just marked it with paint without even talking to the HOA. Well...maybe they are a little territorial...no big deal to me. Been parking on the same line for 11 years (without complaint) don't need a new painted line to tell me where to park. Then I noticed severe grass erosion (paths from the sidewalk) through my property as well as a large amounts of grass just missing from my lot. All property owners own to the sidewalk/street where our house is and it is their property and responsibility. Not realizing it was our neighbors doing it; I thought it was neighborhood kids cutting through; I politely informed my neighbor (lady) that I was having an issue and would be putting up a sign (keep off grass) as a deterrant to the kids in an effort to try to salvage some grass. She did not say anything and finally when I found a sign at the home store(about 3 weeks later)I put it up. This was on a Saturday evening. When I got up the next morning to get the Sunday paper the sign was shredded and stomped on in the same spot I put it (on my property). Like some crazy person had been there. Now granted I am pretty careful to be a polite, but not a bothersome or nosy neighbor so it is just now that I started to put two and two together and looked at the path closer and where all the grass was missing. (I know I am a day late and a dollar short, but again not being the nosy type I do not watch the comings and goings of my neighbors) The path was from the sidewalk to their cars parked in front of my house (that is where their assigned spots are) and right by the parking spot where my small corner lot with a tree begins there are huge amounts of grass just gone. All this damage done in about 6-7 months. Plus there are cigarette butts EVERYWHERE. I am required to keep the trash picked up in my yard per the HOA. So now I find myself having to pick up their trash on my property. I have called the HOA because obviously this guy has a propensity for violence and to report that I had been vandalized. Well my HOA is concerned, but of course without proof they can do nothing. Then this morning we get a nasty note (again no adult conversation, no neighbor to neighbor let's work this out) on my husband's vehicle that we are dinging their car's and that they will "take action" if it does not stop. Basically threatening us. We have two vans. Doors opened by the kids slide length wise as van doors do and I do not recall hitting their car with my driver door. Does not mean it has not happened, but if I did I did not mean to and I would not assume any neighbor of mine did anything with maliciousness until the act itself screams malicious like a shredded sign. I am bewildered. Why can't neighbors just respect each other. You can do what ever you want on YOUR property as long as it does interfere with my ability to enjoy mine.(I.E. smoking) And I would never allow my children or would myself use their yard as a path to the neighborhood pool or bus stop that is right behind their house though it would be easy to do so. And definitely would not myself or allow my children
to throw trash in their yard as they have done mine and I certainly would not destroy any of their property with malicious intent. I am just bewildered! Why are people like this? What happened to Good Neighbors?

I live in dorms. Our hallway is separated by doors and we share a that hallway with boys. I live on the end of the girl's hall/beginning of the boys hall. 3 doors down is a couple of boys, very nice in person, but at night, around 10:30pm they start playing this awful party music as loud as they can, things fall of my walls. I.m 3 DOORS DOWN! I have talked to our R.A's about it...they don't care. No one does...I'm about to start whoopin' some butt!

 My Rude Neighbor Story:
I live in an apartment complex where this woman upstairs does not go out of her apartment to work. Instead she babysits kids during the day and night. I live on the ground floor and she and lives in the unit above mine. The kids jump and down and make noise until it is unbearable. I asked her to keep it down and she acts as if she does not know what I am talking about. Also, when she goes on her balcony she smokes and discards the cigarette butts onto my patio. It is gross. When I asked her about it she claims she has no knowledge how it got there. The problem is the management of my apartment complex is slow to react to complaints. I have taken pictures of my patio and written a letter to the manager of the resident manager of my apartment complex. I know that these are two major lease violations. I hope someone contacts me soon.
Where There's Smoke There's Noise
  My Rude Neighbor Story:
My husband and I just moved into a new apartment with
our 4 month son and instead of a welcome from our new
neighbors, He came over and threatened me that if we
walked on his driveway that we couldn't sue him. (like
we would have) and when my husband used it to walk to
work he came and yelled at me and started making
ridiculous accusations even though we live in an area
where many people use his and our driveway to walk to
and from school or walking there dogs. My husband
continued to use the driveway to walk to work. Just
this week he finally built a makeshift fence with signs
that warn of being harmed if stepping on his driveway.
This all could have been avoided if he had just talked
to us nicely instead of threatening us from the
beginning. What a jerk.
Don't Fence Me In
  My Rude Neighbor Story:
We recently relocated and moved into a rental home in what most would consider an upper middle class neighborhood - We cannot get over how rude most of the neighbors are. This neighborhood is the PITS! We have unfriendly neighbors who never smile back, never respond to "hellos" and just give you evil looks. Moms and dads both work and leave their young children home alone. The kids roam the streets and get into mischief. One kid down the street asked to use our cell phone one day to call his mom at work, as they dont have a home phone. Several days later, we get a call from the kids mom asking why we are calling her on her cell phone harassing her. We straightened that out fast! Many use their garages as "man caves" and drink beer outside, watch TV, smoke, yell and race their motorcycles up and down the street at all hours of the night. Another neighbor does woodworking and feels the need to use his front lawn as his display window.
He actually hauls out wooden benches, bedframes and dressers and displays them on the lawn with a "for sale" sign. What makes it even worse, is that people actually stop to shop! Neighbors behind us have marital problems, chronic smokers and drinkers and domestic abuse issues. We hear constant cursing and yelling over the fence and their kids mimic mom and dad. Nothing like hearing an 8 year old cursing like a sailor. Very sad! One day, the father shot a gun and the police were on the scene before I realized what the loud pops were. Another neighbor down the street recently had a baby. They posted "It's a boy!" signs all over their yard. Trying to be nice, we took them over a small gift for their baby to say congratulations. We received a very, very unwelcoming response and not a word or smile thereafter. Last night we were up half the night listening to yet a different neighbor three doors down setting off fireworks all night in the front yard. Guess who left a mound of trash on the street for others to pick up? You guessed it! Most recently, we drove to the front of our neighborhood to watch a Santa on a firetruck drive by for the kids at Christmas. We parked on a street (not blocking any driveways) and there were no other cars on the street. Once I parked, one man came out of his house with his pitbull and just glared at me and the kids. I said "Merry Christmas" and continued to glare with no reply. Next, another lady came out of her home and stared at us as well. I initially thought they wanted to watch for Santa, but then she asked me to move my car away from her house. This is a public street mind you with NO other vehicles on the street anywhere. As a courtesy, I moved it up several feet but was so ticked off! Needless to say, I am sad at the state of our nation and especially sick about the state of this nasty neighborhood. We cannot wait to MOVE! On a positive note, I did find this website while up listening to all the fireworks last night and laughed my head off. It helps to vent and read posts from others. Thanks for the great website!

   My Rude Neighbor Story:
Dogs are great but not when the owners are derelict! Why is it people own dogs if they wont take care of them. It is impossible to sleep with a window open in the summer time here because of the all night barking..and I mean ALLLL night long. Even my dog looks at them like she is saying "what the hell is your problem"! I can see these dogs freely come and go out of their yard and their owner can see them come and go right into my yard! If their not stealing my garbage and can they are in my yard barking and threatening to bite me. I have to yell at them to get out of my yard EVERY day! Garbage picks up around 6am....Animal control opens at 9am. This is a problem. I have actually called them many times and have not seen them out in the area but 1 time in the 3 years I have lived here. I'm sure they are very busy...but their lack of attention in dealing with these dogs is driving me out of this area for sure and I'm now getting notices from my garbage disposal providers. Part of the problem is that AC wont take a dog if it is in their own yard apparently...and these dogs see them coming and run right back into their own yard! DO NOT move to my neighborhood....it is run by dogs...the dogs make the rules! I love my little house but I am already desperately looking for a safer place to live with less garbage in the streets.
Dogged by dogs
   My Rude Neighbor Story:
My roommate and I have been renting a 3rd story
apartment for the past 5 years. Every year there is a
new downstairs (2nd floor) neighbor; the drunk
maintenance man they gave a place to stay, a young guy
with a big loud dog, the couple with two out of control
(banging) toddlers but our news ones take the cake.
Our latest downstairs neighbors are 2 college girls
that party EVERY NIGHT! First the slamming of doors
and yelling starts around 10:30pm, surely the getting
ready for a night on the town. Then they truck down
the wooden stairs in their clunker high heels talking
as loud as they can and sounding like 300 lbs. When I hear
this.....it's routine. I know to expect the same at
3:30am. Not a coincidence that that is when the bars
close in our county. It happens time and time again.
Call to our rental office, call to police....they don't
care. I move next week. This is something that happens
4 nights a week at least. I kid you not. Rare that
downstairs neighbors can be so rude to offend the
people above them...don't you think?
Up the Down Staircase
  My Rude Neighbor Story:
I live in a rural area . The neighbors are two kids that think they don't have to follow rules and have have no respect for adults. "His" father is the town's jerk. Needlessly to say the younger boys follows in his tracks. He has this stupid looking truck and when he comes into the neighborhood, he blasts his music from the truck which echoes and blares throughout the neighborhood. This area is an echo chamber. When he's not blasting from the truck, he's blasting from his trailer . They light firecrackers near the gas tank of their truck like immature children. They will set this area on fire with their smoking and immature adolescent behaviors. They should be supervised.
Crank it up
 My Rude Neighbor Story:
My neighbor mooches off everyone in the complex and the house next door. I distanced myself from her because she would be at my house 3 times a day or more practically demanding favors or grocery items or toilet paper. She tells dramatic, far fetched stories contantly and then tells contradicting stories. You can't walk past her without her wanting your attention so she can brag, whine or beg. She keeps the walkway so cluttered with her stuff there is barely a 6 inch clearance. She now literally walks into my other neighbors house demanding chocolate or booze ... I finally told her off about the walk way so now she's acting like a sad little victim
Minnie the Moocher
  My Rude Neighbor Story:
My neighbor has a dog which he has been letting run at
large for the past 4 years, going on other people's
property and threatening people. I complained about it
to the police and they informed me that he is a very
friendly cooperative gentleman who I shouldn't have any
problems getting along with. Yet he continued allowing
his dog to run at large, despite numerous tickets and
having his dog impounded. I built two fences to keep
my dogs from going on his property and now they think
it's okay for their dog to run over to my fence,
saying, "There's a fence." The same police believe
everything the friendly gentleman tells them, saying it
was true at the time, another way of saying it was a
lie. All that happened when his dog was impounded is
she got her dog back 2 hours later and now he's running
at large again. They claim he doesn't have to tie up
his dog because of my fence, even though my fence is
inside the boundary line to my property. When her dogs
are on my land, she says he's not at large, but when I
had my dogs on their own property, she called the
police and told them that my dogs were getting out.
The whole time my dogs were on their own property.
This guy also uses the F word to me and accused me of
being a lunatic, (yelling and going nuts) and he also
told me that it didn't take much for my dogs to go
nuts. It doesn't take much for him to go nuts. He's a
lunatic himself and extremely 2 faced and a liar.
Where the Dogs Are
 My Rude Neighbor Story:
My family and I just moved about an hour from Myrtle
Beach Sc, and everything was okay at first there were
no problems with noise. But one day, we were awakened at
3 a.m.in the morning by military jets flying low
over our house. They stopped about an hour, and we
said okay that wasn't that big of a deal. We didn't
hear them again for another week, and ever since we
have heard them flying EVERY DAY starting at sometimes
8 in the morning to 5 in the afternoon. We homeschool
our daughter, and the planes make it hard to
concentrate when you constantly hear low flying.
Fly in the ointment
   My Rude Neighbor Story:
Well it all started on Halloween, when I asked someone to move back a little so that my mother in law who is handicapped can park in front of my house. I went out to ask them to move back a little and the man came out and told them to move back in the spot but I stood there so they couldnt move back and they all came out screaming and cursing at me and then one of the guys came out and spit in my face.
Move it or lose it
 My Rude Neighbor Story:
I have some neighbors who just because they lived in the apartment complex for 14
years thinks they are better than me. I am a disabled veteran and I was told by the kids of my
neighbors that they wish I was dead.
Jolly Roger
  My Rude Neighbor Story:
A divorced man and his mother live diagonal from us. He keeps finding food wrappers in his yard as do all of the other neighbors including us.
He keeps calling the police and insisting that it is my husband throwing food into his yard. I inform them that we do not use the food that they are saying we threw (a store brand) and my husband works at a grocer that sells that store brand.
The police have been dispatched to our home 4 times now for the food in the neighbor's yard. This most recent time the officer accused my husband of stealing food from his work to throw in the yard. My husband works 3 jobs and is never home -- and he is in his mid-30's and would never do something like that.
I am SO sick of the police coming over when we haven't done anything... I hope to find a way to amicably resolve this annoyance or hope that his home goes into foreclosure.

  My Rude Neighbor Story:

Blossoming Problem
  My Rude Neighbor Story:
I have lived in my house for three years now. The first set of neighbors who lived in the house across the street were partyers. They would play loud music all hours of the night and I am not sorry to say that I was happy when they left. I was hoping that good neighbors would take their place. Unfortunately I was so wrong. My house had a fire last year and everything was such a devastating mess. I couldn't wait to go back to my house. Unfortunately in the meantime the house across the street sold and some new people bought it. They set up a bar in their garage and that is where they sit with their friends all hours of the day and night and drink, watch tv, yell, swear etc. They never have just a few people over it is always quite a few. We live on a cul-de-sac and their guests cars just take up the whole street. I have called the police numerous times. It hasn't really stopped them. I don't know what to do. I am miserable living in my own home and it isn't fair. Can't all these people who want to be rude and obnoxious just find their own neighborhood somewhere? I am at the point to where I want to move. HELP!!
Garage Rager
  My Rude Neighbor Story:
My rude neighbor story starts with the kid coming over and having tantrums. He won't leave our property when asked by an adult. We can not use our back yard without his outburst when he comes over and then our afternoon gets blindsided by dealing with his temper and having his mother disciplining him on our lot. Walks in our bushes and shrubs while his parents watch. They leave garbage and junk on the side of their house. The cheap plastic shed they put up was knocked down months ago and tetters on the side of the house in the space between our two homes. For months parked huge truck in their driveway and bright trailers with the business logo causing an eyesore and against town code. Also made it difficult for seeing the road and neighborhood. Their dogs are not contained and run around our yard if not supervised. They annoy me to no end and are oblivious to how inconsiderate they are. Wish they would move....
Run Around Sue
  My Rude Neighbor Story:
I have lived in this town for 32 years on and off. I bought a house in the same neighborhood I grew up in 11 years ago. Of course, some 4 years ago we had the new upcoming neighbors move in. We live outside the city and the neighborhood does not have a homeowners association anymore (so no help). We live on a cul-de-sac so the driveway is on the cul-de-sac side. Two weeks after the neighbor moved in she made the little girl behind her cry saying she was going to have all these cats hauled away. Now we had 3 cats, the little girl had about 3 cats, other neighbors had cats. Well, she didn't like them coming into her yard and throwing up on her car. Of course, she bought the house that enclosed their garage and only made a carport across from our driveway. I asked her if we should put the cats in the backyard and tell them to stay. She said yes! How stupid is she. Of course, I understand. Of course, she is trying to make friends with everyone because she is so insecure and needs to have "buddies" to justify herself.
Cat Scratch Fever
   My Rude Neighbor Story:
My neighbors started out with having underage drinking
parties - pumpkins and vodka bottles ended up in our
lawn.
Then they went into our back yard (it's fenced. and
locked--by the way) and played with the toys when we
weren't home.
Then they backed into our backyard fence and tried to
argue that we somehow did it...to our own fence...from
their side.
Then they spit gum on our property. But when confronted
said, "We don't chew gum." but then added, "That
doesn't even look like a typical gum type." (If they
don't chew gum-how do they know what typical gum looks
like???!)
Then they shoveled snow onto our walkway - to our front
door.
Then they snow-blowed snow into our walkway-to our front
door.
Then they take any leaves they find in their yard
(regardless of if they're ours) and throw them into or
back yard.
I think I have the rudest neighbors that have ever existed.
Beyond beleaf
   My Rude Neighbor Story:
My Family moved in about a year ago into a house that had been vacant for about 3 or 4 years. The house is located at the end of a long street and the two nearest driveways are about 10 yards away, and both of those houses have kids that range from 7-10 years old. SO, since we have moved in our family has noted that the kids don't ever look before they cross the street, and they even think its funny to ride their bikes in front of our cars. And just recently we have had 2 visits from a father who resides in one of those houses that claims that we are driving too fast, and endangering the lives of their kids. The speed limit on the road is 25mph so that is the speed that we all drive at, of course making sure that there are no kids for us to purposefully hit. Here's the kicker... My friend and I were pulling out of my driveway and as we approached the 2 neighbors driveways one of the older kids, probably 10 went straight across the street into the other driveway, when he reached the other side he dove off his bike and ran into the house. Later that night a police man showed up at our house informing us that because of all the recent complaints about our family trying to gain access to our very own driveway, we have to go in front of the neighborhood housing committee and plead our case. That kid went home with a scraped knee and told his parents that he was almost hit by a car that was going way over the speed limit, honestly, how much speed can I gain in a 10 yard stretch? Not much especially because of the fact that my car can barely start. So now every time any of us drive by their house, the mom just glares and the kids smirk. It kills me.
Sunday driver
  My Rude Neighbor Story:
My neighbor is a passive aggressive psychopath. When I moved in she unloaded the trailer, asked the men upstairs to come help, and when they said No, called them lazy and shiftless. She then took me to a store, hitting my fully insured rental vehicle as she pulled out of the driveway, and acted like it never happened. left a weeks worth of groceries on my table outsid of my door the next day with a note "Welcome Neighbor" She forgot the rest of the sentence which should have been to Neighbor Hell". It did not take long for her true nature to come out. She took me to the store, I only had a few dollars to spend and she kindly pulled out her wallet and paid for my goods. The next day she says "I can't take you to the store any more becasue you ask for things" She told me the man upstairs killed his girlfriend and stuffed her body in a camper. The other man upstairs shot a cop with a gun. I of course went around knocking on every door in the neighborhood asking for money. I was
very ill and needed surgery so she offered to pet sit. The day before the surgery she says she is going off to house sit one town over. I got an emergency pet sitter to come and while he was out walking my dog, she came in and broke the plumbing under the kitchen sink and in the bathroom and blamed it on my friend. She came into my house while I was sleeping as she had a copy of my key. I changed the locks. She offered to watch my medicines for me and dole them out to me when I needed them ( No thanks ) After the surgery she showed up with baby food for me to eat ( I am a grown up not a baby and the surgery was not in my mouth. I started to distance myself from her. She responded by throwing her garbage in my yard. She would dress up like a crow and talk to them and toss peanuts on my patio so the birds would come down and poop in my yard. I asked her almost daily to leave me alone and dont toss garbage in my yard. I called the landlady Who according to the neighbor would steal my rent and demand it be paid twice or thrice. Called the landlady mean names like ice queen and royal Bi***h. I finally complained to the land lady and she told me the neighbor was trying to have an affair with her husband and she heard her proposition her husband with her own ears. Told me to tell her any thing she said about the land lady which was mean. So I started to leave every day as soon as I got up and not come home until after dark. Neighbor started laying in wait. Would say mean things about me loudly so I would hear them. Terrified the man upstairs from her so he will only come out if he is accompanied by someone else ( like that cop he shot) and begin having loud sex with the guy upstairs who killed his girlfriend. Then she let her grown daughter move in with her. They started giving me a hard time in stereo. I became frightened to come and go from my own apartment. Last week she told the land lady that I threw something at her and hit her and was yelling
at her and she called the cops and the cops came and knocked and knocked on my door but I would not open the door for them. Landlady believes this lying woman. Today I went down to the cop shop and asked if they were looking for me for assault and battery. They check the records, no record of a call from them, no police response, no officer in fact on my block for the whole day! Gave me a card to give to my land lady. I have told the land lady that I will move out when my lease is up unless she evicts the problem next door like she promised to do when her daughter moved in. I have had bad neighbors before but she is some piece of work. Coo COo Ka Choo. I feel sorry for who ever ends up with her next.

   My Rude Neighbor Story:
We were trying to dig holes to put up a property line fence, when my adult son's
toes went over the property line and our rude neighbor called the police on him.
When they finally came to talk to us all they wanted to do was tell us to shut
up. The rude neighbor even admitted to giving me(or should I say the camera)
the finger and they did nothing to him. He then called the city on us to try to
get the fence in which he, himself, and a old neighbor built together cut off.
The police told him that the city would help him to get it down. When
they came out he had more violations than anyone should be allowed. He stacked
a 7 ft wall of bricks with no morter and no permit, plus the mess in his back
yard( which he calls wildflowers}. He gets drunk and talks about his grandson
and then says we call him names because he is a mixed child -he is a drunk and a
trouble maker. While we were gone for 7 days he tried to break into our house and we
had a witness, but they would not help, he even had a key that fit our bottom lock,
but we had a dead bolt lock on it and that kept him from entering

I am not sure how a person can play X-Box Live every day, for hours at a time. Our neighbor is a college kid too. There has not been a day since we have lived here that he has not played X-Box Live. He plays nearly every morning and every night.

  My Rude Neighbor Story:
There is so much to tell about our rude neighbor. I'll just vent about the latest incident.
Our rude neighbor allows their large dog to run loose. This dog terrorizes anyone who steps outside and defecates in everyone's except its own yard. We looked into and bought a Yard Guard to help with this situation. It's a harmless device that sends out a high pitched sound whenever movement is detected and is heard only by the animal.
Recently, I was up late working on the computer and heard a loud bang near our front door. I was startled at first, but then thought it was probably the house settling. 15 minutes later I heard another loud bang and woke up my husband. He came downstairs, opened the front door, and peeked out. Seeing nothing at first glance, he dismissed it and went back upstairs.
About 10 minutes later I heard a sound outside the window of our computer room, along with the sound of my husband coming back downstairs. He goes outside and all hell breaks loose! Rude neighbor and his friends were drunk, had thrown empty beer bottles at our home (many had broken on our driveway), and they then destroyed our Yard Guard. Why? Because they assumed it was a surveillance device that was meant to watch them! My stance: If you have nothing to hide, then you have nothing to assume!
Rude neighbor and his friends spewed out verbal threats toward my husband and he called the police. Within minutes 3 officers arrived in our neighborhood with weapons drawn. They took photos of everything and charged the rude neighbor with criminal mischief. After the officers left, rude neighbor and his friends started yelling at our house, calling out my husband and once again spewing out verbal threats. Officers came back and hauled the rude neighbor to detox. Some friends he has.they gladly let him take the rap.
We had ADT install a security system in our home years ago because of these yahoos. My husband called ADT the morning after this incidence to have surveillance cameras installed as well. They assumed, created unnecessary drama, and now their assumption will become a reality.how ironic! !
Alarming Neighbors
My Rude Neighbor Story: I live in a fourplex and on both sides of me they are family... there are 7 people living in a small 2bdrm on one side and in the other is 11 people... They don't work.. they keep having babies.... there house is a mess nasty.. filthy the father is a falling down drunk... They fight with everybody in the neighborhood... This summer the police was at our duplex all the time.. The last straw was when I witnessed the father picking up his dog's poop and slinging it into the street and a trash can was two feet away... Yesterday morning he put it in my yard... needless to say I cussed him out called him every dirty word I could think of... Had to fall to my knees and ask the lord to forgive me... To make matters worst they don't even pay rent.... They supposedly do the landscaping for the owners. They do such a poor job I bought a push mower and I do my own... I can't stand the sight of them.. they have no class, no couth and most of all no shame.
GOLDFLINGER
My Rude Neighbor Story: This rotten neighbor treats his property as it were a junk yard with no regard for others around. Here you can
find a junk van, speakers and amplifiers, computers, refrigerators, etc. What a guy! What a family, they have
no shame.
Junkyard Dogged
My Rude Neighbor Story: No one has a situation as bad as this. I have a neighbor that is so obsessed they are constantly trying to talk or yell at us from their own house. If we try to avoid them they come outside and try to stalk us. They stole our credit card and then called the police on us. They make verbal, audible threats to us all the time 24hrs a day. They are completely obsessed. The police will not help. They spend all their time trying to guess the passwords to our account. I have tried to stop them and no one will help. It's so sick. They tell us to leave because they own the neighbor hood.nk van, speakers and amplifiers, computers, refrigerators, etc. What a guy! What a family, they have
no shame.
Blocked Out
   My Rude Neighbor Story:
My neighbor has underage drinking parties all the time. He spins tires and does donuts in his yard repeatedly with his children outside. He has girls moving in and out fighting with them at all hours of the day and night. Last Saturday he had an underage drinking party and kept all of us up til 5:30am. He is very inconsiderate self-centered and rude, and he thinks it is funny
Wheely rude
  My Rude Neighbor Story:
Hi. We got the worst. She parks her car almost right up on our bedroom window& lets it rip, so to speak. She does own the property next door & parks right at the property line or a little over. Leaves her driveway wide open & if anyone parks or even LOOKS like they might she & her husband call the law. . She & her company get loud & say they can because they own where they are living. They think they can harass the neighbors & do whatever they feel becvause they own. They call the law on everybody & think it can't be called on them. I am calling next time they try harassing us.

 My Rude Neighbor Story:
I have a neighbor who walks her Great Dane early in the morning. My other neighbors told me that she lets her dog go in their yards and does not clean up after him.
I was leaving for work early for work one morning and I caught her in my yard just as her dog was finishing "doing his business" on my front lawn. I confronted her and (very polity) asked her to clean up after her dog, she walks away without even acknowledging me, in a what had to be considered a stroke of luck/perfect timing, that same moment a police car was driving down my street.
I waved the officer over and explained to him what her dog had just done, he called her back, she was indignant but didn't say a word.
The officer "strongly suggested" that she clean up after her dog, she then looks at me and sheepishly asked me to borrow some paper towels, "sorry, it's not my responsibility to clean up after your dog" I replied.
The officer was nicer than I was and offered her a single, blue, surgical glove.
The memory of watching her walk home with that one gloved hand, filled with stuff still makes me smile.
Problem in hand
  My Rude Neighbor Story:
We moved into our house almost 2 years ago and we have had problems with our
neighbors that live behind us. The wife has got to be one of the
rudest women on the planet. She goes to her mail box smoking 2 cigarettes at the
same time wearing a sports bra and sweat pants. This is not a pretty site. We
had to put up a fence to keep them from driving onto our property at high
speeds. This same lady that smokes like a freight train complains to our
local fire department at any time I burn leaves. I used to burn leaves away from
where our properties adjoin. Not any more.
I just have to make sure that I have a burn permit before I light up. . I have been told on 2 occasions
that they were moving. I have a truck if they need one.
burned up
   My Rude Neighbor Story:
My family and I have been in my neighborhood for over 20 years, and this couple moves in next door last year and nothing has gone right since. They first asked to park their 20 foot trailer in front of our house. says it will only be there a week tops. ends up staying there the entire month of June and some of July. fine. we let it slide. they throw a party not too long after and to our surprise at 3am in the morning, 3 drunk people had stumbled over from the party and literally walk in my front door. fine, let it slide again. its a party no big deal. They fight constantly at crazy hours of the night. at the top of their lungs they scream at each other, I hear this but nobody else does so fine, whatever, people fight. I've done it too. NEXT they decide that they want to drive on our lawn to cut around each other in the driveway so they don't have to move cars. ARE YOU @#$@#$ KIDDING ME?!?! You're that lazy you cant just move the car. okay, now we're starting to get pissed. some time goes by
.. Everything is fine. no problems from anybody. so, i wake up yesterday only to my mother saying the lady next door came over and accused me and my 70 YEAR OLD OUT OF SHAPE GRANDFATHER of stealing some sink they had in their yard for quite some time. next, they call the cops and have my grandfather get out of bed to come down here and figure all this out. they've been gossiping throughout the neighborhood saying this and that, and frankly I've had it. One kid in the neighborhood flipped my little old mother off like it was no big thing. I cant take it anymore. I don't know what to do. We have now set up a little area where they used to drive on our lawn dedicated to little knick knacks and huge rocks to slowly push them away. I don't know what else to do. but I've honestly had it.
I sink not
  My Rude Neighbor Story:
My rude neighbors don't even live in the house next door to me. They live in an upscale neighborhood in another city nearby. They bought the house next door to me for their son. He brought along his girlfriend and her uncontrollable, terrorist young children. The kids learned to scale fences and climb on garage roofs. The lawn/meadow hasn't been mown since the snow melted. I must say, it has been an education for my children watching the crows dive for mice living in the yard and how long it actually takes for a newspaper to rot. Ants can eat a garage roof in two years!! It's like National Geographic next door. Except for the seedy characters that stop by once in a while.
Up on the roof
   My Rude Neighbor Story:
Me and my children moved here in 1999 and I use to try
to get eye contact with my neighbor to speak, but
they'd never look up. In 2004 we finally got eye
contact and spoke with one another. The wife told me
later they do not have space to park their vehicles
asking me to put my trash cans with my other neighbor's
trash, I told her since they live across the street
from me, that she could use the space in front of her
home to park, why take my space in front of my home
when she lives across the street. She told her children
to set up a basketball court next to my driveway,
although it was in the street, I thought why couldn't
they put it in front of their home, I went to her house
and asked her to please tell her children to move the
court in front of her home, for the safety of her
guests why drag a court across the street to play and
dirty up the streets in front of my home. I hate
getting dirty but I admit I was pretty boiled because
as soon as she would tell them to take the court, the
next 30 or 40 min. it was out there again. I got the
Heftiest Dog Pile I could find and placed my city trash
cans on each sides of the Basketball Court and left
them unopened, and each time they threw the ball it was
in danger of falling into the dog pile. Their mom
finally asked them to remove Basketball Court. Sheesh!
They constantly park in front of my home leaving plenty
of parking space at their home, and I have no space for
guests. Their children broke glass in our driveway and
when I told the mom about it, she asked me how did I
know her children did it, when I told her I saw them do
it, she made her 7 year olds pick up the sharp pieces
of glass with no protection for their fingers, she
never told them not to do it again or say sorry, she
just smiled and walked away. My mom was working in the
yard and a huge rock went flying past her head from
across the street, they have friends to come over and
watch our home, they will sit on their porch and watch
us for months, I have pictures. They flamed my mom for
wearing a hat while she was out pulling weeds at her
home. Their children will come over and kick in the
garage and today they kicked our front door so hard we
thought it was a break in. We are very quiet neighbors
and I think it's odd to get so much attention from
them.
Duck, cover and shoot
    My Rude Neighbor Story:
First let me explain that we have lived in this townhome for 3 years. Never had any problems until recently. When the neighbours from hell moved in. The pounding at 8a.m for the first two weeks. We figured were just regular move in noises. It has been two months and we wake up every morning to what sounds like the ability to defy gravity and run on the walls. Usually around 6 on the weekdays and around 7 on weekends. Then the stereo or TV. It thumps and bumps the shared wall. We have gone over there several times and asked them to turn it down. Not so much the volume the bass. First time, we got the excuse it was his daughter (3). For twenty minutes?? Really? The second time he said he was adjusting the volume. Again, twenty minutes? After that we decided we were not getting anywhere ourselves. So we called our landlord. I can only imagine the excuse he used that time. There have been several other times, however, we have now turned to our local police department for help. The lame excuses have just become absurd. Now that the weather is getting nice. They brought out this inflatable jump thing. They placed it between our two properties (we share a porch and a front lawn.) The slide from this thing ends up in our driveway. Every weekend thus far (there have been 5) They drag this thing out and set it up. All the neighbourhood kids come over and jump in this tiny little thing. One of our vehicles is too large to put in the garage so it has to sit in the driveway. Not only do the kids fall out of this jumping thing and end up rolling and hitting our vehicle, then ride around in our vehicle with their bikes. (Our driveway is not shared with neighbours) Since these happen during the weekend we try and use the opportunity to leave for awhile. And not only do we have to watch for children you see their is a car pulling out of the garage but stand there like a deer in headlights. Wanting to be hit, I guess. But, now we are running over shoes and snack bags that they have left behind in our driveway. The porch has become a dumping ground for soda cans, drinking glasses, toys and other debris. I was polite enough to move their trash-can from rolling around in my driveway to theirs (I put it in front of the garage door so that it wouldn't roll around the street for cars to hit) The neighbour saw me and cussed me out for touching his things. I also ended up picking up the toys from the front porch on my side so I wouldn't trip on things. Again I was told not to touch their things. I don't ask my family or friends to come over anymore. If I did I would have to excuse the neighbours mess and not my own. When their friends come over the thumping noise gets louder and louder. A few times the police were called by someone else to come out. And then lastly (so far) The smoke. Whatever, smoke. However when it is so thick it billows out the front door when you open it. You might want to not smoke in a rented building. The smoke now
bleeds over to my town-home. Most of our holiday storage under the stairs is now ruined from smoke. We spray air freshener all the time. We even purchased an air purifier (which we should have made the landlord purchase.) Nothing is helping. The damage is done. Our home smells like we are chain smokers. I hate the weekends now because all I do it wonder if there is anything I can do. Do we have to move? Is that the only thing left?
Weekend at Smokey's
   My Rude Neighbor Story:
Yeah there's a sight to vent.. Woo hoo
Only one neighbor is rude thank goodness- the others are quiet and keep to themselves. I have 2 small-meduim dogs who only stay in the yard when I am home because the children throw beer cans, bottles, eggs, food toys and other junk. They also tease them so they will bark. You would think the parents wouldn't want the barking. Once an open pocketknife found its way into the yard. I have called the police 3x in 3 years( could have called more but I don't like to pester the police). I think the children are bad because the parents do not supervise much but let an older brother who curses at them watch them. He is also mean to them. Once he took one on the roof and made him get close to the edge all the while the child was screaming. I think CPS should be called but I don't want their wrath just yet, Maybe when I move. What I really dislike too is their yard is much larger so why do the kids have to torment the dogs on my side. When the properties were separated in the 1920's I guess this property got the big front lawn and the tiny backyard. The children also pee on the front lawn and run away. Oh I could go on.thank you for the venting space.saw them all hanging out on the deck cursing and spitting would say no way no how. Anyone want these people as their neighbors?? They are free to anyone.
"Problems with little squirts"
   My Rude Neighbor Story:
How would you like to live next door to a neighbor who feels that playing loud music at 7:00 AM on the weekends and its loud enough to hear over an air conditioner and all windows closed? Thats the good part of this neighbor. Their household size is any where from 7-11 and out of that only 1 works some times? Their kids range in age from 26,24,20,16 then you have the grand children from age 9 down to 7 months and the girlfriends mind you no one is married. We own our house and have a 3 year old in ground swimming pool, last year we found broken clam shells and beer bottle caps in and around the pool. They do not cut their grass and the best part is even though we have a fence they invite young children over and do not watch them and they decide to climb my fence to get into my back yard. The language they use is so filthy that my daughter can not invite any of her friends over to swim,
None are married and all they do all day long is smoke (how they afford this??) spit and curse on their deck which faces my pool. THe best part is we have had to put up two fences and the guy that lives there wants us to split a privacy fence with him even though he has never put up one fence! This to keep his friends kids out of my yard!
How about building bon fires all night long right next to my trees and fence and I mean big bon fires they are so big because they refuse to use an axe to make the wood fit they just toss it in a home made brick circle and if it does not fit too bad we have soot all over our concrete from their fires. Needless to say we are paying for our third fence that is going to be 8 foot high and if the town allows it put barb wire along the top. Oh best of all is they do not cut their grass and when they had a dog no one would scoop so the smell was horrible from spring until the first frost. I have owned my house for 25 years and this guy moved in about 4 years ago and the value of my house has declined just because of the junk yard behind us. I would move but anyone who came to view my house and saw them all hanging out on the deck cursing and spitting would say no way no how. Anyone want these people as their neighbors?? They are free to anyone.
Fenced In
   My Rude Neighbor Story:
How about a family member as a rude neighbor. She is a cousin . She doesn't mind watching you and trying to tell you that you are not living right, she loves to tell you she is going to tell someone about something you supposedly did. Then she goes to church on Sunday with pathetic group of aunts, cousin and nieces and nephews and prtends to be a woman of strong religious convictions. I moved away because she made my life hell and helped turn my family against me. Her other former neighbors can't stand her and were so glad when she and her husband moved. I wouldn't wish this gal on anyone. She's mean, rude, obnoxious and two faced.
Dissin' Cousins
    My Rude Neighbor Story:
My new neighbor is a Renter who moved in next door 3 months ago. I
have lived in my house for over a year. The man has threatened my
sister and brother who live with me, we are in our 20s. He's threatened
to "throw his dog over my fence and see who comes out" I do not
condone dog fighting. He has a pitbull I have a Rotweiller. He threatened to have me evicted even though I OWN my
home. We are fenced on all four sides,So I put up tarps on the chain link to try to avoid conflict but
today my dog's leg is broken, he's bloody and my neighbor claims that
my dog jumped over his fence fought his dog then jumped back over
the fence with a broken leg all while no one was home I
don't think so. and he called animal control on my dog because of this.
Backyard Blues
   My Rude Neighbor Story:
I have neighbors on one side who let their dog loose to poop in my yard. The dog chases everyone down the street. They get drunk in the spring/summer and sing kaoroke to Merle Haggard all night. The neighbors on the other side look like they are having a garage sale in their front and back yards including the toilet on the back porch. They have two dogs that bark all night. They never feed the dogs much less pay any attention to them. They did have 4 dogs and got rid of two of them. Their car got sideswiped and they left all the debris in the middle of the road for people to drive through. Their garage is falling down. It has branches growing underneath the siding of the garage, so if you pull on a branch the siding will pull off in your hands. So much for getting my house sold and getting away from all of them. The neighbors on the end of the block are running a junkyard.
Mama Tried
   My Rude Neighbor Story:
My mom has lived in our home since 1996. In 2007 my dad died and mom was living here alone. Later that same year I became disabled from an incurable illness and my husband left me, so I ended up moving in with mom and my 2 boys. For as long as I can remember, my parents were always friends with the neighbors on both side of the house (On one side of our home we are attached to our neighbors home and share a front yard). They helped when my dad began to get weak after being diagnosed with cancer, they helped after he died (mowing our front yard, carrying heavy things in, giving us food or extra items they picked up at the store, just being nice people), and they continued to help when I moved in. My mom and I both being disabled puts us at a real disadvantage, and knowing that, my mom has always given gift cards to them for Christmas since they wouldn't accept money. What happened to make them the most rude neighbors in the world was this- I adopted a small dog because of my depression. I thought by taking care of another being I wouldn't be as lonely or depressed. I hired someone for help walking him, I also take care of him, and I have an 11 year old as well. 4 days or so after getting him, our neighbor (the wife) saw us outside and just as I was going to show her the puppy she started yelling at me! She said I have no right to have a dog because I can't care for it, that our home is disgusting and that I had some nerve to get a dog when they do so much for us. Obviously, she says, if you can take care of a dog you can handle everything else, that she washes her hands of us and that she is done helping us at all! I felt so so terrible. My mom is so upset she has lost her friends (that obviously didn't care about us as much as we thought). I feel guilty that I wanted companionship after getting a divorce, my dad's death and getting seriously ill. And she yelled all this in front of my 5 year old! He still says hi to her because he doesn't understand, and I don't stop him because he is young. We live where all those snowstorms hit this winter and the neighbor has a snowblower. As my sons and I dug out our sidewalk, the husband finished his and then started snowblowing the road! I shouldn't have been out because of my bad heart and lungs, but we had no choice. My ex husband finally came over to help. This past weekend the wife was raking and made a perfect line down the middle of the yard. My mom really wants to move but she just refinanced and I told her if we sold the house we will lose money. But it's hard on her to be ignored and treated like that after having a good relationship with them. And I feel horrible because she feels horrible.
Dog Tired
   My Rude Neighbor Story:
This is..."IN THE DARK" again! I wrote last week about my neighbors that despise my new utility lights. I stated that I live on a lake and need the light for security as our home and lot is...in the dark big time. So, the latest to my story is that after the neighbors complained to the code marshall and he found no fault, I decided to call EMC and have them put a dimmer bulb in both lights in the yard. I also asked for a shield to send all of the light toward our yard ONLY. My neighbor complained again! This was before EMC actually came out. He was quite disturbed and frightened me. I explained that I did not have to but decided to do as explained above. Later that next day, he called my eldery mother and told her off...knowing that we were having the lights dimmed and aimed more directly toward our home. The other neighbors are now in on this horrid thing I did...trying to create light for safety. Meanwhile, EMC came out and put the shields up and used the dimmest
bulb available. NOW...my other neighbor, on the otherside of my home...called EMC out and had them put more of a shield without even calling me and without my authorization, they changed my lighting. The audacity! This neighbor, by the way, was told of what I intended to do prior to the lights being installed and I asked for his approval...not that I needed it. NOT ONCE did he even call to let me know that he was not happy with MY lights. :) So, now...he has pushed my buttons. It's a big deal now. Tomorrow is Monday. I am calling the utility company and I am going to find out WHO authorized work on MY property without MY permission. Has anyone ever heard of this kind of outrageous behavior? I think I might have a lawsuit. So, "In the Dark"...might be "In the Money"!!!
Still in the Dark
  My Rude Neighbor Story:
I live in a subdivision where there's a swail that collects rain water in
between everyone's back yards. I've lived in the subdivision for almost
10 years now. The past few times it's rained, my neighbor who lives
behind and kitty-corner to me has called the cops on me and my
family, claiming that the reason she has a tiny lake in her backyard is
because our sump-pump is draining into her yard. They come out and
investigate. They end up telling her that it's because her backyard is
uneven (she used to have an above-ground swimming pool in it) and
because of the swail that divides everyone's backyards from the people
living behind them. She gets angry and pulls the same stunt every time
it rains. I wish she'd finally get what the cops are telling her!
I have a swail neighbor
  My Rude Neighbor Story:
Moved into a quiet subdivision, where unfortunately most of
the neighbors are retired. When I first moved in, I was greeted by a
"posse" of elderly women warning me of my neighbor's "vicious" dogs
(two chocolate labs). The ringmaster of the group proceeded to tell me
about how these dogs had attacked her dog and husband and had
threatened her, ran her off the road, harassed her etc.Thses alleged
actions caused her to become embroiled in a five year string of
lawsuits against these neighbors. She also informed me how several of
the neighbor's had children with drug problems, a man who had
"molested" her 40 year old daughter by touching her butt at a party,
etc. All of the accusations turned out to be false.I knew to keep my
distance, however was witness to a so called altercation between her
and the neighbor with the labs. She became hysterical for NO REASON,
went to the sheriff and filed a retraining order to prevent the dogs
from walking in the county. She made a total ass of herself in court
and appeared to be psychotic, people in the courtroom were laughing
at her. Additionally, she fabricated what occurred to make herself the
victim. Of course, I had to testify in court and it was dismissed. As a
result, I am now her new target. She regularly sends out emails to the
entire HOA making accusations against me and my children,
fabricating stories even if we are out of town. She has even gone so far
as to threaten my children. Apparently, she has been involved in
several similar suits in her prior state. It is obvious this woman suffers
from a mental illness and loves to be portrayed as a victim. She just
returned from vacation, which means a new email should be circulating
any day now. So much for peace up here.

 My Rude Neighbor Story:
my next door neighbors had a guest over who hit and ran my parked car when they left the neighbor next door. My neighbor DENIED he had a guest over but was outside talking to person who struck my car prior to running away.
Hit and scram
   My Rude Neighbor Story:
I live in a duplex and my neighbors constantly bounce balls against the walls and down the stairs. So I started calling the cops on them (and also for the 24 hour barking dog.) They told the cops that they didn't know anyone lived where I live. (I guess the cars outside didn't give them a clue) Then they started egging my house. The first time I called the cops the guy wouldn't come out of his house. (I assume he called mommy and daddy to ask what to do) He finally came out about 10 minutes later (as the cop was helping me clean up) He decided to LIE and tell the officer that I constantly throw rocks at him and his car And that his whole family hates me for some reason or another. (by the way...I have never had a conversation with any of these people) So now the cop is pissed at me and starts treating me like a criminal. Basically, if I call the cops on them, they lie to try to get me "in trouble". UGG!! And if that's not enough, the neighbors behind me have a screaming yip yip dog who barked 14 hours straight one day!! (it wakes me up every morning!) And those idiots take turns watching me over the back wall. UGGG...I NEED TO MOVE!!!!
Egged On

We live on a lake and in a subdivision. We do not live inside the city limits, therefore we don't have street lights. It's very dark and have heard wild animals during the evening hours when it is dark. Several neighbors have had EMC come out and put lights on the utility poles near their yards, which they have to pay for monthly. We don't have a pole in front of our home. So...we called EMC and had them come out to discuss installing two lights on poles. One toward the front of the yard and one closer to our home. These lights are very dim and work from dusk to dawn and are much less intrusive than using our bright and almost blinding lights that are attached to our home. EMC *electric company* abliged us with the two lights...naturally, they permit out everything they do. Two days later...which is today...we get a visit from the code marshall. He was sent to discuss our obtrusive lights. Yep. He was also told that we have trash all over the yard...we don't. He was also told that we drive on our yard. Yep...we do. We live on a lake and have a garage in the back as do they...and take our boat out for the lake. Gee...so sowwy. HAHA. So...the code officer laughed. He then proceeded over to the neighbors and told them we were not in violation. If they want to live in the dark then it appears to me that they must have something to hide. By the way...I had the EMC people to put the lights where it would not shine into anyone's home. Too bad I didn't have them blasted with light as I am angered beyond measure. I have a small dog that I walk in MY yard and now my only fear is not the wild animals but the animals that live next door. Better known as BAD NEIGHBORS!
In The Dark

Our street is an "old" street, meaning that 90% of our neighbors are elderly. I have 2 dogs who love people and when they see someone they want to show love to them. One day I had my "girls" outside to do their business and she came outside with her ugly little mutt of a dog. My girls bounded over to her to be petted (granted, I should have had them leashed), she ran inside. The next day I was at work and she came in and I said "I think you are my neighbor", and proceeded to apologize for my girls scaring her. She didn't accept my apology, but loudly started to yell at me about how I was nothing but "honest white trash". I took the abuse without saying a word. The following day my husband went out to get the mail and I guess she must have had the same idea. Anyhow, all my husband said to her was "hi", she started yelling at him at the top of her lungs calling him all sorts of names and threatened to call the police on us. She told him that we were nothing but "honest white trash" because she wasn't original enough to come up with anything else. A few months later I was setting up a dog kennel on "her" side of my yard and she came out to say that by city ordinance I wasn't allowed to put it there. So I calmly told her that I had gone to the city building and gotten the rules and regulations and had taken the time to measure the distance between where I had put the kennel and her house and that I was within my rights to do as I pleased. Knowing she was beaten, she loudly started berating me and threatened to call the cops on us again. Finally, I snapped and told her that she could just hand me the phone and I would call them for her. I think I got my point through cause I haven't seen or heard from her since last summer.

I've got some real winners for neighbors. We live in what used to formerly be a VERY quiet townhome complex with a shared greenbelt until the rude neighbors moved in. They let their nasty, bratty kids run screaming and yelling all the time without being supervised. I have seen the kids destroying neighbor's plants, running in the street and almost getting hit by a car, leaving garbage and toys all over the place without cleaning up, and making life for people miserable, The parents have parties and get drunk, hooting and hollering outside so that all the neighbors have the pleasure of listening to them.
-Trash Bash
have a neighbor who will not let me cut the weeds and grass in my yard because she feels that my weed eater is going to damage her fence. She was out of town and I did not know when she would be back so I very carefully trimmed the weeds without touching her fence. Well I just got yelled at in my own front yard because she told me not cut the near her fence. She has to come onto my property to cut my grass so that her fence is not damaged. I guess I will need to fence it off so that she is not able to come on to my property.

Yesterday our sweet dog Mollie got loose, She has done this about 5-6
times in the year and a half we have had her. She runs through the
invisible fence and we even keep her on a long leash (inside and out)
during times at home where the kids were in and out a lot. She ended
up getting hit by a car a couple cars down and died instantly while 4 of
my kids watched. My husband comes out and they start to dig a hole
for her and everyone is balling, neighbors are over and they were all
consoling the kids and over walks neighbor from hell. We have never
more than waved at her or said hello. She is private person and has
never been nasty. she said out loud that she doesn't feel sorry for us
at all and that it was our fault because we never took care of her. My
six kids were all there balling over their sweet dog's death. The dog is
laying there lifeless, and my hubby is digging a hole with tears
streaming down his face, He asks her to leave his property immediately
and she says NO what are you gonna do about, there is nothing you
can do. He asks the other neighbors to please move back as he is
going to water his "lawn" . She walks away calling him an a##@%$..
completely unbelievable some people!!

We live in a pretty nice neighborhood where each of the lots is in excess of an acre. We are the owners of three of those lots. I am also the owner of 3 four-wheelers, which my daughter, son and I ride on one of the spare lots. This is not a neighborhood in the center of the city, it is on the fringe of the city. To put it in perspective, we have about 30 wild turkeys and have had deer on occasion in the yards. So, not your typical "in town" neighborhood. We don't ride our 4-wheelers at night, it is always in the middle of the afternoon. Also, the 4-wheelers are not strictly for "play", we do use them to haul dirt or limbs, spray for bugs and weeds with a pull behind sprayer, or spread fertilizer with a pull behind spreader. When we are playing on them, the neighbors have called the police saying that the dust is bugging them. So recently we built a burm (approx. 3 ft. high) with shrubs to make a tall hedge to keep the dust from leaving our lot. They complained about the burm and the landscaping. We were told the lots were for building residences, not for recreation. Uh ohh, no fun can be had on the streets or lots of our neighborhood. Furthermore, the two spare lots we own are unbuildable due to a creek running through the middle of them. So those can't be used to build residences, and now the neighbors don't want us to enjoy ourselves on the lots. They have even called the zoning and planning office in our city to attempt to have a code official out to issue me a citation saying that I was using the lots in an innappropriate manner. Zoning officials said it was my lot, I could do with it as I pleased. The police come out and can't issue a "disturbing the peace" citation without the neighbors signing it, which they won't do. And all of this from just one neighbor, I don't have time to tell you about the rest of them. Suffice it to say, we live in the rudest neighborhood . When "Bewitched" went off the air, I thought I had seen the end of Gladys Cravitz.....oh no, she lives in my neighborhood with her 10 sisters, and they are all the same. Always have their nose in our business and want to control what we do on our own property.

My Rude Neighbor Story:
We have the rudest, most idiotic neighbor ever. When we first moved into the neighborhood on the north side of him he was harrassing the woman who lived on the south side of his house. He pulled out vegetation she had planted between their properties. She let that go trying to keep the peace, and then later planted several oleander plants to grow into a hedge so he couldn't see into her windows. Well, she would go to work and he would cut them down to about a foot tall. To prevent that, she had my DH help her put a decorative 3' high fence up so he wouldn't have easy access to the plants. Well, he came home from work and proceeded to tear the fence out with his bare hands in front of all the neighbors. As the homeowner had just left for work, I called the police and they had me do a citizen's arrest on him. Then he started harrassing us. His dog continually would dig into our yard so he could get into our garage and eat our dog's food. That was "our fault". His dogs bark continually, when we asked him and his wife to please do something about it, they accused us of teasing them. Well, now we've moved into the house on the south side of him...probably not a smart decision, but we got the deal of the century that we couldn't pass up. He had a brick wall put in between the house before we actually moved in, so we knew that would solve the dog problem. Too bad it didn't solve the problem with him. He continually calls the police making false accusations. When we lit our tiki torches in the back yard, he called the police and said we had uncontrolled fire in our back yard. Believe me, the officers had quite the laugh when they saw the "fire". We turn our radio on, he at first would turn his on louder. Now he calls the police and believe me our radio is not loud. My husband vacuumed and washed our cars at noon last weekend and he called and reported noise because of the vacuum. I'm getting to know the whole police force because of this idiot and of course there is nothing they can do. Yesterday I told the officer that showed up that since they are allowed to make reports at nothing, I will now start doing it. Every time his dog barks, I will call. Every time he turns his blower on, I will call. Every time he throws a rock or snail into my yard, I will call. Every time he peaks his head over the wall, I will report a peeping tom. I've had it!

My neighbors (below us) think that we need to live by their rules. They feel that us living above them is TOO much noise. I went to close the window the other night, and they started pounding on the ceiling. They feel that we should not make ANY NOISE, that includes walking across the floor, opening and closing our closet,or dresser, going up and down the stairs, or any little peep. They think the WHOLE world revolves around them

In 2006,my wife and I bought our first home in the country. We have had problems almost ever since with one of 3 nearby neighbors. The bad neighbors are so bad that they don't speak to one of the other neighbors who happens to be the mans' brother.I was once told by the brother that in their family lies a certain mental illness that skips generations and they believe it landed on "him"."He" has a drinking problem and he seems to be living out a fantasy that he and his wife can control the entire neighborhood just because they have the biggest chunk of land in this subdivision. What's even worse is that they are good friends with the local police and they've figured out that they can lie to the police and get away with it.One such occasion happened in 2006 right after they decided that they didn't like us;One of their police friends advised them to put a protection order on me.So,the woman went to the court house and got one.In the process, she lied 11 times in a written statement to the prosecutor. Now,,it is unlawful to make any false statements against another person and this can be reviewed
.I know because I did so.I brought this to the attention of the chief of this so-called police department and he told me that my fact findings didn't apply to "them".I knew he was wrong but how do you fight for the truth and your rights when you're the victim of small town politics. My wife and daughter have been dealing with their trouble in many different ways since the trouble began. In the fall,I was diagnosed as having stress related breathing attacks. The reason why was because I was getting so angry at these people and I knew that there was NOTHING I could do about it.We tried mediation. They didn't agree to it and so that went nowhere. There were times when my breathing attacks got so bad I didn't know if I was taking my last breath.More recently, we were able to put protection orders on both "him" and "her"..
.There have even been times when we had pictures or videotape of them doing stuff that they shouldn't be doing,as per the guidelines of the protection orders.I tell you, this really bugs me enough to make me want to kick my own ___ for buying this home. What's even sadder than that is that even if we did sell,I don't think we're going to get nowhere near what we paid for it.

Rude is just half of it, the other part is insane! About eight months ago we had an older couple move in beside us. My husband and I had heard stories of this couple being insane but did not want to listen to the rumors not knowing the couple. Everything was fine at first, a seemingly nice couple, until I came home from work to find my garbage can missing. At first I thought kids had stolen it and I blew it off.The next day a man from my trash service told me that my "nice" neighbor posing as the manager of the park had it thrown away. The park changed the rules on animals stating they had to be inside pets only, not a big deal since we love our dog. Several days later only having our dog on a lease, in our presence our neighbor calls our landlord and complains about the barking.
-No can do

No job, just smoked all day and night in front of his house. Fished on his days off from staring at me and my children from across the street. One day he called the cops and said we put a pebble the size of a Easter egg in his garden. From then on he went on a wild spree. Started calling cops daily. He even told his next door neighbor that we stole his mail. He smashed our dining room window. Next he tore our front door street lamp from its hinges. He even tried to ram his ugly pick up truck up to our garage. WE called the cops and they did nothing. Cops were on their side. Next the DCF social workers started harassing us and claiming I was a porn and drug queen. The cops kept coming over and over again. So we call DCf back on those losers. We come home to find cops surrounding our home. Neighbors said we were the callers and the cops threatened to arrest my daughters. Three days later we left our beautiful home and moved to New York. Seven monhts later I find out there is a warrant for my arrest. Neighbors made cops issue a false dcf report from me. How about the 100 they did on my family? Seven monhts after that a neighbor says I was trying to kill her fat husband through a phone threat. Another warrant issued. It took me three years and 7,000.00 to clear the warrants and my name. P.S. neighbor divorced husband I was supposedly trying to off by the phone. May they get what they deserve.
-On the hook

We had new neighbors move in at the end of May 2009. They have 3 small boys who are destroying alot of our property.
The middle child put a huge scratch on our car's drivers side door with his bike handle that had no handle cover it. Can you say MAACCO? Then he scratched the other side of the car. He sat on my other car's hood with sandy shoes and scratched the hood!
My husband bought a 10pk of solar lights. The two youngest children have pretty much destroyed them and picking them out of the ground.
They or one of them bent my brand new screen door!
The oldest likes to eat over with my oldest boy. However, one night I mentioned that I was going to make mac n'cheese for my daughter. The older neighbor boy asked to eat over? I said "NO, it's for my daugter and my Aunt is here from out of town, not tonight." He went to his mother, who marched herself into my home and basically demaned and stated that her son wanted to eat here and he asked, which I replied , "FINE"- only because my Aunt was there and I was not going to start something. Can you believe her walking into my home and telling me what to do. Basically her 8 year old has been running our lives around, with his temper tantrums and bouts of crying. No more here I'm done, my house my rules!!!
The oldest boy again told his mother a month ago that I kicked out of my house and he wasn't allowed here, ever. After a whole day of listening to this kid cuss at my kids and i mean CUSS! the other neighbors kid, cuss at me and my husband I sent him home with NO comment that he wasn't allowed etc...His mother then lamb basted me on her Facebook page. it's my freakin house lady-like it or leave it! it's like my neighbors have no common sense of boudaries and personal space.

I live on the 3rd floor of a 3 story building. Below me is a young couple with two kids who are loud and obnoxious. Atleast, that's what I was told by my landlord when the first moved in. I cannot recall how many times I've went down to pick up mail and seen atleast 4 children, around the ages of 2-4, running up and down the stairs. Even more disturbing, I'm convinced they smoke inside their apartment. This building is not a walk-up. Instead, it has a door you need to unlock to access the stairs to get to your door. So all that smoke leaks out and just sits in the stairway. The cigarette smoke has wafted into my apartment and my poor roommate is probably directly above the area where they smoke because her clothes are sometimes rank as hell. *gag* Our stairwell smells like stale cigarette smoke. But the icing on this disgusting, smoke-laced cake is the NOISE! Even as I write this, their little girl is shrieking. Not crying. SHRIEKING. And has been doing in for the last five minutes. No joke. I know she's a little kid, but WTF! It happens EVERY SINGLE DAY with the exception of Saturdays (I wish everyday were Saturday). It's like this: "AAaaaaaaaa!" *pause for 3 seconds* "AAaaaaaaa!" *pause for 3 seconds* and in a really shrill voice. [even as I continue to vent, she's still at it! omg.] It's like this, CONSTANTLY! I am not exaggerating. It always happens in the morning, 7-10am and at night, 8-11pm. I woke up this morning around 4:15am to use the bathroom and guess what I heard?? You betcha! "Aaaaaaaa!" and pause. "AAaaaaaa!" I mean really. [Yes! It finally stopped!] When it first started happening, I was thinking that these kids were in the apartment alone, no one to watch them. Who would let their own kid go on like that for long periods of time? I was tempted to call the cops, thinking it was child negligence. I had even voiced my concerns to my landlord, only to find that the mother was unemployed! So this mother, sits in the apartment, listening to her own kid go off constantly like
clock work and doesn't do a thing about it?? What a shame. And the running and stomping around!! I'm on the third floor! I can hear and FEEL those kids running around below me. Before they moved in, this was definitely a quiet, smoke-free area. Hmmmm...the shrieking should be starting any second now... :(

Rude neighbor is soooo worried that I'm going to plant trees too close
to his property line - he keeps asking me "When are you planting your
trees or what kind of trees" - I told him to mind his own business and
I also said quit asking me about my trees - I slammed our garage door
- his passive aggressive behavior is really bugging me - what do you
think? He is a busy body stay-at-home dad who has nothing else to
worry about - he really bugs me!!

The lady and her daughter that lived next to me (we shared a laundry room,) used to live in my house and liked to start doing laundry anywhere from 10:00 p.m. to 1:45 a.m. at night. that would have been okay if we didn't share a laundry room that was right below my kitchen window. Laundry hours were from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and one night, after six months of this , they began to put laundry in at 10:47 p.m. I politely called out that it was after laundry hours and that is when i heard them turn the washer on. I decided to turn the electrical breaker off and did. i had a good laugh, especially while listening to them try to "fix" it. when they called the landlady the next day (their close friend) to tell her i had turned off their electricity, they failed to mention the time at which this transpired and had not tried again at 8:30 a.m. but 7:30 a.m. i was threatened with arrest which i laughed at because i am a paralegal. These neighbors are so unintelligent that they did not realize only the laundry room breakers are in my home and accused me of messing with the electricity that runs in their home. i moved shortly thereafter and am now suing the landlady for treble damages as this went on for so long with no consequence to them. slumlords at $1500.00 a month.

I moved into my house 16 years ago. The current neighbor to the W moved in 4 years ago. Earlier this year they had a baby and the mother was paranoid and thought that someone(s) would climb over their 3-foot chain link fence alley side and steal the baby. I had talked with her and she told me this. So they decided to have a brick wall built. The property line between this neighbor and me consists of a 6-foot chain link fence. When I moved in 16 years ago I actually removed the 3-foot chain link, dropped 6-foot poles over the existing 3 foot ones and put up the 6-foot chain link. I then added angle arms at the top of each post, pointing into my yard with three strands of barb less wire. This was to prevent my dog for escaping. She loved to jump and run. I then added 6 foot wooden fencing on my side of the chain link attached by wire. 3 years ago I planted 2 passion fruit vines against the wood fence. They are now mature enough that we currently have over 100 ripening fruit on the vines. We also have a tortoise habitat against the wood fence.
Saturday I heard my dogs barking at something and went outside to investigate. There was a truck in the alley and I heard voices coming from my neighbor's back yard. I heard my neighbor say, "well, when you cut down the chain link I'm sure the wood fence will fall down into his yard". I spoke up and said, "yes it would, but you are not going to cut down the chain link fence". Up until then we had been social neighbors on good terms, sharing Christmas gifts, I went to the baby's Bris and baked them a chocolate Babka when the baby came home. He said that the chain link was on his property and that he could take it down if he wanted to. I said that most likely the chain link ran down the center of our properties and I did not give him permission to remove it. He said that he knew that the chain link was on his property. I got him to agree not to touch the chain link until I could call the city on Monday. At noon I observed my neighbor in my front yard with a metal 25-foot tape measure. He was at least 6 feet into my front yard from the sidewalk. I walked outside and asked what he was doing. He said that he was measuring the property. I said, "you mean you haven't obtained a survey from a licensed professional? He said DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH THAT WOULD COST? I said that he didn't need a full survey, just one to determine the property line for his wall. He said that that was still too much. I said that he couldn't measure himself, it would not be accurate. I suggested to him to build the wall up against the chain link. He said that he might have to but he would see. He then wanted to know if I was going to pay for the section of the wall that ran along my property. I told him that I didn't need the wall since I already had a fence and that I didn't like brick walls since they retain heat, we live in Phoenix, and don't allow for airflow. I asked him when he built his wall, not to cut my passion fruit vine, just to push it back. He said that whatever grew on his side of the property he could do whatever he wanted with it
. I said that as a good neighbor who wanted to keep the peace he would not cut the vine. The reasoning for this is because the vine grew up the fence and along the entire 30 feet. If any vine was on his side it was over 6 feet since my fence blocked the vine from coming through up to 6 feet. Any cutting of the vine at that point would sever major branches.
He built his wall right next to the chain link, which is fine. The end issues were the potion of the wall that goes from the back of my house to the front of my house was finished and the concrete slop that fell from the seams was left in my gravel. The workmen took the old chain link poles from the alley and other neighbor's side and smashed them against the ground in the alley. They did this to knock off the concrete and salvage the poles. However, they did this behind my property in the alley and left the debris there. The city bulk collection will not pick this up and it will probably be assumed that I left it there. Not only did he cut the passion fruit vine, but it was cut at an angle over my property and as predicted, I lost about 15% of the total vine. This resulted in the destruction of over 20 ripening passion fruits. I was hoping that he would also continue the wall to the sidewalk since his sprinklers water 3 feet into my gravel desert front yard.
I have taken the dead fruit and placed them in a shallow pan on our property line so that they see them every time they use their driveway. I have called the city about the concrete rubble in the alley behind my property. I didn't file a complaint, I just wanted a record of it for when the bulk collectors come and see it. I have also taken video of all the issues including the sprinklers just to have documentation. I don't think I'll be getting a wine/cheese basket from them this year.

My neighbor is so rude because we have a magnolia tree in our yard and she SORTS the leaves that fall into her yard and brings MINE back to me!!
-Leaf me alone

We built our house and had no idea who would build next to us. Who did we have the misfortune to pick a lot next to? The Redneck Family. The wife, a high-school drop out who had two kids by age 19, has a power-washing fetish. Weekly, she empties out her garage and places all of her ugly junk on her front lawn. She turns on her stereo which blasts out crap music from her garage, which actually RATTLES my windows with every bassline. (No lie.) She then proceeds to loudly powerwash her garage interior. Onward to powerwash her windows, her actual HOUSE, her patio, their ATV, and her junk car. Which she blows dry with a regular blowdryer. All this time, while she's powerwashing, her kids are running wild. Then, she makes everyone put her junk back. Now, the Clampetts - as we fondly call them - have one car and two trucks. They are all wrecks. One hardly runs. It sits on the street in front of my house, leaking oil. Not in front of HER house, no; it would be too ugly for Elly to look at. Since her powerwashed garage is so clean, naturally she will not use it FOR CARS. They park their junk cars in their driveway and park off the sidewalk, and also the fire hydrant and my mailbox. Elly Mae has a babysitting business which is clearly in violation of community association rules. Her "clients" can't drop off their kids in her driveway, as it is all parked up by her junk cars. God forbid they should have to walk a few feet, they are too busy. So what do they do? They use MY driveway. So now - I can't get my mail, I can't not have strangers in my very small driveway. So I go to Elly and tell her not to park off my mail delivery anymore. Then the retribution begins. She instructs her kids, - to taunt me. Good teachin', Elly! But Momma is pissed, and so they do. Taunt me, my dogs, my husband, every chance they get when we step outside. They harass me and run in my yard. They kill my shrubs with paintball. They throw iceballs at my front windows. They shoot at us with toy guns. They try to make us wreck on our street by driving their bikes into our car as we pass them. Can you say "Future Convicts with Real Guns?" Her house "accidently" gets struck by lightning and of course, one of their wrecks has parked off the fire hydrant - because we CAN'T mess up the powerwashed garage, can we? But they get a dream of an insurance settlement! What I've learned is: If YOU need your mail, help from the fire department, too bad. The most important thing is Elly and her powerwashed garage! Thank God I am moving soon. It's the only way I could ever escape the Redneck Clampetts and their babysitting and their powerwashing.

My next door neighbor rescued a dog 6 months ago who is unrully and sits outside near my window BARKING AND BARKING. When we complained the witch felt she had a right to let the dog bark because it had sucha rough life in the rescue for all of 3 days. They let the damm dog outside every 2.5 hours for 45 min at a time.
It wakes me up every day at 7:30AM even on days off. Then the witch thinks because she moved into the neighborhood 12 years ago she has some sort of "seniority". Excuse me Ms. Trash....you paid $200k for your house and I bought mine a few years ago for $500k....why the hell do you think you got more rights than me?
Be polite and stop being so rude and shut your damm dog up!
-Keeping up with the barkers

Residential neighborhood. The neighbor came out the front door while we had pulled in his driveway and proceeded to back up, we were turning around. stated this is personal property don't turn around in my driveway or i will call the cops. we said call the cops. we made an agreement to the officers we would not use the driveway next door to turn around in if we needed to. this was the first time in a possibly a year that we might have done it.
-Circular Reasoning

We live in an apartment complex and a woman moved in across from us 5 months ago. Since then we have been watching her haul stuff into her 1 bedroom apartment. So far we counted 3 large couches, several chairs and bags and boxes of 'stuff' every single day now. She often leaves her door open for the world to see (mostly us since it's right across from our door)and the piles of junk, bags and boxes are just unreal. She's a smoker but doesn't want to smoke in her apartment, so she stands at her door with it open and smokes. Often times in her night gown which is just gross! My husband and I do not smoke and I am allergic, so I have to hold my breath when leaving my apartment so I don't inhale her smoke and spend the rest of the day coughing and downing allergy meds. What's worse is it's getting nice outside now and I want to open the windows for some fresh air, but her smoke lingers into our apartment! She might as well be standing in our living room smoking! it's that bad! So instead of her smoking in HER apartment...she's basicly smoking in OURS!
Then today I noticed she's started to store her junk outside under the steps that lead to OUR apartment. I have some nice decorative things out side our door and now her junk is sitting right next to my pretty things. She's put a fish tank stand, bbq grill, potting soil and bird seed all right next to MY door. I try to keep it looking nice and presentable outside my door and now it's all junked up with her crap! I'm so sick of it I feel like saying something, but am afraid of her loud mouth daughter who has already belittled and harrassed other neighbors. I've spoken to the landlord, but they say they'll talk to her, but nothing has yet to change.

About a year ago the house across the street went up for rent and within 30 minutes the sign was taken down. A week later 14 people moved into the 1000sq ft home. They came from the Gospel Mission in the next county over. The second day that they arrived, there were people parked in front of my house waiting and one of the 14 people came out with a small bag and gave it to the people waiting in the car. Something else was exchanged but I didn't see it. Then the rap noise started. I noticed that the older man that lived there would go to the side of the garage and urinate on the wall in the front yard. I went to ask him to please go to a private area and all hell broke loose. I was called a racist and then I got a letter from the NAACP. I was told to stop or criminal charges and civil charges would be filed. The drug deals and music and peeing on the wall continued. I then noticed that the younger people that lived there would throw objects at my house. I found a dried up piece of car polish from a round can smashed up against my stucco home and also odd looking holes on the other side of my garage. I later found out that they had been cutting ammunition up to make some sort of explosives and sometimes the bullets would go off and must be hitting the side of my garage. I witnessed one of them actually kicking little river rocks across the street putting dents into my garage door. When I stared them down they just looked at me and laughed then walked slowly into their garage.
Then a young person came over and rang my doorbell trying to sell me a card for 20 dollars that showed when the Oakland A's were playing. I explained to him that I am on Social Security and couldn't afford to buy anything. I think he had ulterior motives because when I opened the door he stood on his toes to look over me to see what I had in my house. I immediately squeezed the door tight so he couldn't look in.
The neighbors told me that the girls across the street were going around the neighborhood asking what size clothes people wore and then came back that afternoon with long coats in the right sizes from Macy's and asked if they wanted to buy the 200 dollar coat for 40. They all said no way. I guess the girls needed the money because both of them were pregnant. I was told one of them was 12 and the other 16.
They had a car parked in the driveway that the alarm would be going off all night long. My next door neighbor is an EMT and he would beat on their front door for over an hour every night to make them get up and turn it off. I joked with him telling him to "tell them to turn their alarm off, we have our alarms on because of them moving in". My EMT neighbor didn't think it was funny.
I heard people running through my back yard and I would tell them to get the blazes out of my yard and I would be cursed at and then parts of my roof came up missing. Then the windows would be broken out. My back yard has a 6 foot fence around it and the gates were locked till they broke the gates down. I would go out to mow the front lawn and there would be hundreds of cigarette butts put out in the front grass. They would sit there all night under my tree smoking.
I called the Sheriff's Dept. When the Deputy arrived, I told him what was going on and he told me with a smirk on his face, "What do you expect when you rent to someone like this!" They wouldn't do a thing.
I then checked the county records to see who owned the house. I found out their names and address and sent them a certified letter telling them that they are about to be sued for bringing a nuisance into the neighborhood.
30 days later, they were moving. My windows were shot out the next week and so far the amount of damages to my home have totaled over 3 thousand dollars. That is 3K, I don't have. I am now eating beans and rice but no more problems. Thank goodness.
Before you think this can't happen to you, let me tell you what type of home I own. I bought this house in 1997 for 107,700. Before the real estate crash, my home was appraised at 400K. Realistically my house is now worth around 160K. The rest of the neighbors are white and Hispanic with a few Asians. I worked 12-15 hours a day for 6 days a week for 30 years as a truck driver to get this house and my other neighbors are semi-proffessional people too. Basically middle class tax payers.
You know how hard it is to comprehend why 14 undesireables can move in and ruin the HOOD in less than a week after moving in?

HELLO,MY RUDE NEIGHBOR CALLED THE POLICE ON US FOR NOTHING SAYING OUR MUSIC WAS TOO LOUD WHEN THE POLICE ARRIVED THEY SAID THAT THE MUSIC WAS NOT LOUD.MY HUSBAND AND I WENT TO THE RENTAL OFFICE AND TALKED TO MY PROPERTY MANAGER AND SHE SAID SHE WAS GOING TO HAND OUT A LETTER TO HER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.PLEASE SEND ME AN E-MAIL I'AM DISABLED AND I'AM ON SETION 8 AND I'AM TRYING TO GET A HOUSE SOON AND I REALLY NEED SOME GOOD ADVICE.SHE IS NOT ON SECTION 8 AND SHE'S ONLY BEEN HERE FOR 3 MONTHS AND WE HAVE BEEN HERE FOR 10 MONTHS SHE IS A JEALOUS PERSON AND ALWAYS WILL BE.

My neighbors moved in and wanted to remodel their home. I happen be suffering from a serious back injury and chronic bladder infection. It has been over a year that I have had trouble working. I am living alone. They moved in and started banging with drills, saws, hammers at 8 am even on the weekend.
I asked them nicely (since they didn't tell me ahead of time of their continuous banging for over two weeks)if they could wait till later in the day since I go to sleep late and wake up late. I was trying to be friendly. There was no response. They started giving me dirty looks for months afterwards and making fun of my house which isn't as nice inside and refusing to accept an invitation to my house. They show no interest in my health problems and they are cold. I have complimented them endlessly hoping the noise will end. They are very hostile in their body language for no reason what so ever.
They are also hostile in many other ways. YUCK!

My Neighbor is SO Rude and disrespectful to me and the entire
neighborhood he lets his dog run around loose . He also cusses at his children and his wife give me and my family dirty
looks, maybe it's because my family consists of an Older woman, a
Middle aged woman and a teenaged woman.
-Run around Sue

Our neighborhood has one citizen with an overgrown mess of a yard-guess where they live-you got it, next to me. Besides the unsightly view and often disgusting smell from the dogs outdoor potty we also have to tolerate an invasion of mosquitoes every year-they love to reproduce in my neighbors jungle and mini ponds made by old buckets and other containers sitting around the yard. As good neighbors we've tried to help them clean up the mess only to have it reappear a couple weeks later-it's a lost cause! If one rude neighbor wasn't bad enough we have another neighbor whose family and friends smoke like chimneys and since I'm allergic we have to keep our windows closed even on beautiful spring and summer days. Even worse they are rude Republicans who like to blare their radio as they listen to the obnoxious and malicious Limbaugh. We are Democrats and consider his vitriolic show the single source for destroying the esprit de corps in our nation AND neighborhoods all for the purpose of making himself a multi-millionaire- so pathetic and unpatriotic. Hearing his arrogant, hostile voice bellowing across the fence turns the most beautiful, blue-skied summer day into a nightmare! We've expressed our dislike of Limbaugh and asked this neighbor to politely turn it down-their answer- "we like it loud, more people need to listen to Rush." These neighbors are also very nosy and watch us like hawks, taking mental notes then subconsciously copying everything we do in our yard, true "ditto heads"--it is so annoying to live under constant surveillance. We pray for days when our neighbors are not home which isn't very often.
If I was a bird I would have found a new nest years ago unfortunately the economy has forced us to endure this daily assault on our sanity! Many days we feel like we are being squeezed from both sides by the oppressive jaws of a vise--the only thought that helps us cope is to think it could be worse.(but not much worse!)
-Rush to Judgement

I live in a nice, gated apartment complex that allows pets. There are
12 buildings and the lawns around each buildings are well maintained
weekly, by a local landscaping company.
The entire outer perimeter of the complex (inside the gates) is a
grassy area designated as the doggy pooping area. There is some kind
of stand every so often that I presume holds baggies for pet owners to
clean up their pet's messes. I don't own a pet, so I never go out there.
In the past 6 months I have seen an influx of people letting their dogs
poop on the lawn outside my apartment building. I am in the corner
apartment, so I see this when I to pull into my parking space in the
evenings. I have kindly told *several* people they are not supposed to
do that on the main lawns. The responses have varied between abject
apology to downright hostility - as if *I* am the one with the
problem!!!!
Tonight, I had had enough. When I arrived home I did not exit my car
right away because I was finishing a phone conversation. I saw a man
walk by, in front of my car, across the lawn directly in front of my
apartment, and across to the side lawn on the corner, next to my
apartment. I didn't think much of it, because I was engrossed in my
conversation, and I just assumed he would continue walking toward
the perimeter where he was supposed to be.
Imagine my surprise when I glanced up and realized his large dog was
prostrate on the side lawn, not 6 yards from where I sat in my car,
taking a loooong dump. Had the man walked just another 20 yards or
so, he would have been at the allowed grassy perimeter. I should have
guessed the man was going to stop on this side lawn, instead of
continuing to the perimeter, since he walked across the front lawn,
instead of walking through the parking lot to get to the perimeter.
When the dog finished I watched to see if the owner would scoop it.
He did not. He just walked away from the steaming mess, in my
direction. This time he walked in the parking lot, and would cross
behind my car, instead of across the lawn in front of my apartment.
As he neared my car, I got out and noticed he was not looking toward
me, but away, and it was clearly a case of avoiding my eye. I said
"Excuse me, sir, but were you aware there is a perimeter lawn for your
dog right over there?" He just smirked at me and kept walking.
He SMIRKED at me! I called out to him that I would report him to the
apartment management and he just continued walking, ignoring me. I
called out that he was a JERK.
By now, I am sure he is thinking *I* am the problem neighbor -
because, well, you know, I was yelling and calling him a name, and
besides people like that never think THEY are the problem.
I started to walk up to my apartment, but just became more incensed
by the moment. So I turned around and followed the man, to get his
apartment number, to turn him into the management. He walked all
the way around my building, and over to another building behind
mine. I noticed he didn't let his dog poop on HIS building's lawn, and
that further incensed me.
So, I called out to him again to ask for his apartment number. He
turned around at that point and asked me what MY problem was!
OMG! I repeated what my problem was and he told me to just go away.
I told him I would follow him to his apartment and turn him in. He told
me to go ahead.
Let me interject here that he never raised his voice during any of this.
His face remained passive. *I* am the one who was angry, red faced
and raising my voice. So *I* probably appeared to be a crazy women
with spittle coming out of her mouth.
After he told me to go ahead and report him, I told him he KNEW he
was wrong and that what pissed me off the most was the fact he
refused to acknowledge it. I told him if he would just apologize for
being a jerk, I would go away. He said "Alright, I'm sorry." But he said
it in such a way that I knew he wasn't REALLY sorry. But....
At that moment his dog chose to lunge at me. But, I was soooo angry
and full of adrenaline, that I barely registered the danger. He yanked
hard on the leash to keep the dog from probably attacking me - I was
coming across as threatening to his master, after all - and I suddenly
had a thought that I could be accused of stalking and harassment, so I
told him he was a jerk again and I turned and stalked off. It wasn't
until afterwards that I realized his dog could have really harmed me. It
was a large dog, too.
It took me an hour to calm down. I shook for an hour after that. Not
about the near dog attack, but about the altercation. I HATE
altercations, and it takes a LOT for me to instigate one. In this case, I
know I was 100% correct, but probably not 100% justified in following
him and confronting him.
And darn it, I still didn't get his apartment number. I know which
building it was though, and when I report it to management tomorrow,
I am sure they can narrow it down by my description of him and the
dog.
Oh, and I also started thinking he might come back and take revenge,
and key my car, or break the headlamps, etc, since he knows which
car I got out of! So, I actually went out and moved my car over in front
of another building two buildings over, to "hide" my car from him
should he come back. And now I am mad at myself that I started the
whole thing, because I might have to deal with retribution from him.
Next time I guess I will just mind my own business, even when
someone else's business is infringing on my rights.
One last thing, while I am still on this soapbox... Why is it that those of
us in this world who complain about those who are CLEARLY in the
wrong, are viewed as Complainers and Troublemakers and Grouches,
etc??? Why is standing up for what is RIGHT, the wrong thing to do?
I know when I report this to management tomorrow that they will
listen to me politely and will probably send out a mass flier to remind
everyone where the doggy pooping area is. BUT, they will be thinking
"She is making too big a big deal out of this." I have never complained
to them about this to them before, even though it happens a LOT. But
I do report various things that need to be repaired, including a major
roof leak I had a year ago that was supposed to have been fixed and
wasn't, so when the next rain came, the water came pouring in on top
of my grandmother's antique 4 poster bed, and I was pretty upset with
the complex about it. They acknowledged their error and had the roof
fixed right away, but they knew I was very unhappy about it all. So,
now I am afraid they will just see me as a pain in the neck tenant.
Sigh.

My son went to her house with his friend while her husband was at work. She would give them beer and cigarettes. I put a stop to that. She showed up at the door early one morning after kids went to school and husband had gone to work. She came in the door and tried to choke me. She told the Judge that the wind hit the door and pushed her in the house. I am telling the truth, this really happened. We have been to court over and over and still are. This lady pees in the yard, yells at my kids when they go past her house. We had a pool put in and so did she. We built new flower beds and so did she. She stands and yells while jumping up and down like a boxer. She looks really stupid so all i can do is laugh. There is more to this story but it would take hours to tell all so I just hit on the craziest points. She told the Judge that my husband called her at 2AM and told her to turn off her vaccum because he couldn't sleep. How could we have heard her vaccum, she lives two doors down with some yards in between. One day our son ran in and said her lawn mower was on fire. My husband ran over and as he started to the door to see if she knew about the mower she slung open the door and said I know my ____ lawn mower is on fire. I blew it up!!! The other neighbor said she poured gas on it and then took a gun and fired about 5 rounds at it till it blew up!!!! THAT SHOULD TOP THE LIST OF BAD NEIGHBORS!!
-Mowed Over

I have some very rude neighbors. On the 4th of July they love to do fireworks over our car and they love to have their children play in our yard and moon people and ride their bikes all in our yard. I try to talk to the parents, but it does not seem to help. I cannot walk down my street, because they think that I am after their children. I am just trying to get some exercise. I asked them to turn down their music after 11pm and at least by 1a.m. and then my mom asked them to and they would not. The police had to be called and they would wait til they leave and now they are doing better. I am in school and they are in the bed by the time I get home. Thank you God.

Have really rude neighbors across the road. They always yell things out only have the courage to say something when they have a whole group with them. They are trailer trash.

We live in a nice residential area, two twenty something boys bought the home foreclosed home next to us almost two years ago. Where do I start ?
Male and female urination in the back yard.
Fowl Language floats over the fence like free air.
Squealing and peeling of of tires in the streets.
How long to your let your pickup truck run just to be a jerk 1 hour two hours all night long ?
Souped up garden tractor races all over everyones yards sidewalks, streets, until the wee hours of the morning.
Drunken parties till 4:00 am 25 feet from your bedroom window.
Playing chicken with two 3/4 ton pickup trucks in traffic in the middle of the street.
Boom box cars 24/7 365
Motorcycles reved until the engines scream so loud they almost blow up.
Neighbors catching you out on a Saturday afternoon with your grand kids act like they are going to rear end you three times, then when you get to a stop sign they are standing outside of there vehicle with arm folded, acting like tuff guys and I dare you to pass me. Only to be told by the Sheriff since they did not hit you threaten you nothing can be done.
What do you you ? I ignore them they drive past the house and rev up the diesel truck with modified exaust at 3:00 am and wake us up. I push for help with the City/Sheriff they quiet down for a few days then they are right back at it times 10.

-Washed Out

My family and I have lived in the same cul-de-sac since I was born.
Now, my parents live in our childhood home and my brother and I
bought a house three doors away! We enjoy having them so close, but
certainly don't enjoy our next door neighbors, whom have lived there
even before my parents moved in. They are an elderly couple, and have
always seemed sweet, yet they are causing a lot of trouble for the
neighbors. They have at least six junky cars and an old trailer parked
on their property (backyard, driveway, curbside) that they NEVER use,
and two that they do use. That makes eight cars and a huge eyesore of
a trailer! Not only does it look terrible, the old cars attract rats that
climb the branches of their HUGE tree that grew into MY fence and now
tower over half my yard and the roof unless I get out there and trim
them, and the rats have a field day in our attic! Not to mention, he has
a tube connected to his washer/dryer and lets the run-off water his
tree which inadvertently spills into my yard. I'm sure it's not really
hurting anything, but is against city code, and also mucks up my yard
with his bleachy underwear water. Then they decided to get these three
ridiculous mutts that bark all day, all night, and whom have turned my
yard into swiss cheese. I have an INDOOR red heeler, and she cannot
even be let out for fifteen minutes to play or go to the restroom
without being attacked by those flea-ridden mangy mutts. To rectify
the situation, they bought an electronic device that rings at a high
frequency when the dogs bark to stop them. Sometimes it
malfunctions and holds the high pitch for hours at a time - it is so
loud and disturbing, my parents (who are three houses away) and their
neighbor, along with people across the street can hear it! All have tried
to deal with them reasonably. Usually it goes off about 3 AM and
incessantly rings for hours, so once my parents called them, apologetic
about the hour, but explaining that something must be done. Instead
of trying to be reasonable, he cussed and yelled at my mom! It is
getting to the point where the authorities are going to have to handle
it. They don't appreciate reasonable, kind pleas from their fellow
neighbors so we're just gonna have to band together and take action
through the police.
-Over the Top

I have a neighbor in the back of us, whose yard is above ours. I have 3 licensed dogs and these neighbors called Animal Control on me last year. They lied and said that my dogs were out until all hours of the night, barking. In actuality, the neighbor was angry because she had 3 children under the age of 5, and my dog woke them up from a nap at 3 o'clock in the afternoon, barking at the mailman, one afternoon. When the Animal Control officer could not find a single other neighbor to validate he claims, he left and nothing came of it.
Since then, however, I have been 'finding' things in my yard. I know that the children throw things down at my dogs and tease them. I've witnessed this several times myself. Now I found 2 hot peppers, not only in my yard, but on my back steps, right in front of my back door, where I let the dogs out. The neighbors have a pepper plant in their backyard. I've taken pictures.
The local Animal Control officer told me that there isn't anything he can do, unless 'something happens'. I guess one of my dogs has to die before this madness ends. However, according to the PA Dog Laws, it is unlawful for someone to place something harmful where dogs can eat it. Hot peppers killed one of my friends' dogs. Not to mention, there could be rat poison on these peppers. I have kept them in case I need them.
Now the moron boyfriend who lives there, is standing up at the fence, taunting me and my dogs whenever I'm out there. I have plenty of pictures.
Why does Animal Control only come out when dogs are bothering neighbors, but do NOTHING when neighbors bother dogs.
I think these people should take the SPCA's advise and SPAY and NEUTER themselves!
-Assault and Peppered
My neighbor is so dang rude.1st of all she waits til im not home to come over and curse my kids out and bang down on my front door. 2nd when she sees me now she runs like a little girl. 3rd. If she wasnt cheating on her husband maybe she could live a better life...

I don't know if I would call her a rude neighbor or the RULER of the neighborhood. I live in a small PUD of 12 houses. I bought my house on 2002 and about 2 years later my fiance moved in with me and my teenage son. There are only 3 other households that are 'couples', there is a single man next door and the rest are single, divorced or other 45+ women. The 'ruler' has been the hoa mgr for over 6 yrs, even though the cc&r's clearly state board members shall only hold a 2 year term. Our house has been in her cross hairs for the past 3 yrs. Whenever we have asked for items regarding the association, she refuses to provide them or tries to charges us for them. She makes up assessments to nickle and dime us, knowing that we live on a very tight budget. She will notify all the other homeowners of dues and 'forget' to advise us, then file a lien on our house the day payment was due because we had no idea that there was anything needing to be paid. She has filed about 6 police reports against me, all stemming from me giving my fiance power of attorney regarding the association and her refusal to speak to him. There is a no contact order against me that she has recently renewed for another year. But she will continually trespass on my property and post things on my front door?!? Can someone explain this, please? In the summer she will sit in her front yard in a chair under her tree and watch us. She has slandered us to the other homeowners and now we are going to be the subject of a 'special meeting' regarding the lien she filed (not paying what I wasn't told I owed.) There is supposed to be a vote for everyone in 'good' standing. Can you see where this is going? This woman is purposely trying to destroy my life and sucking the very breath out of me. I already had agoraphobic tendencies before all hell broke loose, now I'm terrified to be at home alone, but too afraid to leave the house because she always seems to home and watching us.
Thanks for listening. Trapped

I was debating whether or not to tell on my "rude neighbor dilemma"..but, by hearing what others have to say..I finally don't feel alone.
I've lived in my family home for over 35 yrs. of my life..growing up and feeling nostalgic here. Neighbors come and go, but this "one" seems to be staying FOREVER. They were an elder couple (I hardly saw them..so I thought they were both still in the home)..comes to be known that he died and she is still dwelling there. Oh..well. They had an oversized, diseased and deteriorated Pine tree on their property. For the longest of time the branches would fall over into our property causing all sorts of messes. The needles were like mulch all over our grass. Grass hasn't grown in our one patch of the yard in over 35 years there. Our Pond in the back corner of our lot was always being maintained cause of all the debris coming from this tree. Every hurricane or bad snowfall would bring on threats that this tree was going to collapse on my home one day. Finally, enough was enough. One of the largest limbs fell on my property almost into the pool. Breaking my fence, cement birdbath, flowers, and the limbs covering the pond and almost destroying my deck. I called the town to see if this was my responsibility..they said. that it wasn't and they would speak with her about the "obvious" problem. (funny thing..she could look right into my yard and view all of this..but chose to ignore it..since I've never complained before). She was completely offended when the property maintenence advised her to have the tree professionally removed. I found it respectful to apologize to her and explained the harm it could have done if this continued. Till this day..she doesn't look or speak to us and shares her horror with other adjoining neighbors making them think less of us..because "We" made her cut down her tree. It was administered by the town. Not my problem anymore!.Some people are just so rude and disrespectful no matter what age.
-Pining Away

We live in a small town of about 30 people, so the rules are pretty slack as far as town ordinances go. Our neighbor, a single mother with two teenagers has decided she can't afford to pay for garbage pickup so she fills the back of her truck with trash bags before stacking bags of it on her back porch. She does clean these up about once a year. Her kids have thrown dead fish across our fence which don't smell very good in 80 degree weather. Her boy hawks and spits when he notices us in our yard, as well as throws rocks at cars when someone angers him. She's also big on suing people, her brother who is a political activist and her parents think she's great. She's also not big on mowing her yard, but compared to everything else, that's minor.
-Minor Mower

My rude neighbor is a man who called the police on my barking dog rather than telling me the dog would bark when I wasn't home. I had to go to court. The judge threw it out, but I corrected the dog's behavior by leaving him inside whenever I would leave the house. The neighbor continues to snub me, and would stare my daughter and myself in the face and make obscene gestures. One day, my daughter was eating watermelon with a friend, when she said, "I could smash this melon in my face it's so good." He thought she was talking about smashing his face, so he pulled his truck in front of my house, going out of the way on a dead end street. He said, "You got something you want to say to me? Say it to my face!" So, I called the police on him. He received a warning that if he even looks at my daughter or me, he will be charged with harassment. He looks the other way now. I asked other neighbors about him, thinking I had done something, and they all say, he's just a jerk, and snubs them, too. Go figure.

I live in a 3 story apartment. In August of 2007 two gentlemen moved in upstairs. The first night they were there I had to ask at 4:30am and then again at 6:30am, if they could please stop pounding on the floor as i was trying to sleep. then not even 2 weeks later they started letting their dog use the deck as an outhouse. which made my deck unuseable as my sliding glass doors where now covered in urine. complaining to the manager seemed to do no good as they just continued to do it. finally in feb. of this year we seemed to be making progress with the manager and something was being done. did i mention that the dog likes to howl for hours on end. his record to date is 7 hours. it is now june and once again my deck is an outhouse. I have just complained again and am receiving notes from the gentleman upstairs about having a positive attitude. they truly do not see the injustice they are doing to me.
-Positively Howling

My parents divorced when I was 17 my father had it in his head that my mom was cheating so he devised this scheme where he had our neighbor across the street played look out to his friends running around our house banging on the house egging me on outside.
Well one day I was playing guitar in my garage when my neighbor went ballistic and him and I had words because I was fed up with the noise complaints usually around 1pm or 4pm on Friday and Saturdays whenever he felt the urge to be inconvient. Well ever since, he and his wife have gawked at my mother and me.
It's ridiculous my weapon of choice against them has been to ignore them. I have weathered 2 years of it and I am entering college on scholarships and this has little affect on me as they continue to make me the centerpiece to their life.
I have spoken to numerous lawyers and many legal advisors about this well documented issue. And i still feel my rights being walked on.

My neighbors live in a rather nice four-plex. You'd think managing to
get along with a mere three other homes would be easy but
apparently it's impossible for these twats. They showed us their true
nature from the moment they moved in. We have a parking area and
each complex has its own two designated spots. If everyone parks
accordingly, no one can be blocked in by anyone who isn't a guest of
the resident. From the first day they arrived, this young couple parked in everyone else's spots. At first, we were all trying to be patient with them. They were new and each neighbor figured they must be the first person they had inconvenienced and had yet to learn the arrangement. Sure, they were curt and unapologetic about putting you out, but each of us figured we had caught them on a bad day. But soon everyone found themselves being inconvenienced a second, third and then a fourth time, and we
discovered all of us had the same experience telling them where they
were designated to park. Around then, we stopped giving them the
benefit of the doubt. This may seem like nitpicking but when you are
running late for work or to catch the grocery store before it closes
and find you are blocked in and have to run up a steep set of creaky
wooden stairs in heels to knock on a door for the five minutes it takes
them to respond, only to get a nasty "oh. You again," kind of reaction
as they take their time moving into their own empty space -- it
becomes a little more than a minor annoyance. One night, I came
home exhausted from an extra late night on the set of the TV show I
worked on. It was around 2am. I began to pull into the parking area
only to find they had parked blocking the entire entrance so there was
no way to pull in at all. My car was brand new at the time, under a
month old, and I was still in the protective phase of new car
ownership. So, parking on the adjacent street, which enjoys two car
crashes almost nightly, instead of the safety of my protected covered
designated space was a bit precarious for my blood. Not to mention
that all the other nearby streets are permit-only and I had no permit
since I never needed one. Not to mention MY PARKING SPACES ARE
INCLUDED IN MY LEASE AND COVERED BY MY RENT! Furious and tired
I climbed the steep wooden stairs to bang on their door. After five
minutes of successive pounding the curtains on the nearby window
rustled as someone peeked out and then closed it again. I figured the
next few moments I waited were so they could put on a robe before
answering the door, but in fact THEY WENT RIGHT BACK TO SLEEP! I
couldn't believe it. This just could not be real. Even hardcore jerks
have the common sense not to make enemies of their neighbors!
Neighbors know where you live! But indeed, it seems our lovely
affable building had been infected with a new strain of impractical
jerks. The parking problem continued, and everyone, tried some
measure of preventing it to no avail. You'd leave a note on their car,
you'd find it crumpled up and thrown in your parking space the next
day. You'd catch them in the act and they'd walk away from you like
you were begging for change. It took me and a neighbor getting a
tow company to post a sign to get them to do anything at all but by
then the die had been cast. But the piece-de-resistance was the yapping rat-like dog they acquired. Clearly an impulse buy of a young, bored, now
pregnant homebound wife, she yapped back at the noisy animal
endlessly and even housed her mother and her ratdog for month so
they could all perform as a sort of yapping ensemble. The jerks drove
the neighbor they live above, the oldest veteran of the building for
over twenty years, nearly to the brink. The barking and yelling and
tap dancing paws on the floor above him was driving him out of his
mind. I could only imagine it must have been indescribably loud since
he's somewhat deaf as it is. And then one day I'm in the shower and
I find my ankles and calves have tiny bites peppered over them like
measles. I don't have pets. My guests don't have pets. This just can't
be. But my dermatologist confirmed that yes, I'd been devoured by
fleas. I examined the rug in my living room and sure enough, I found
some. I bombed my whole house and even my car mercilessly but
nothing would eliminate them permanently. I started making my
boyfriend leave his shoes in the laundry room and made the whole
place shoeless at all times. No one was exempt. Even the plumber had
to don my disposable Japanese slippers while fixing the sink. But I
still found survivors. When the building exterminator finally came
around he told me my poor hard-of-hearing neighbor was also
infested and that nothing he did was going to make the problem go
away until they did something about their pet. A call to the landlord proved effective, and the whole building evacuated for a day while they professionally bombed it. Because I now worked from my office at home, evacuating for a day wasn't terrifically convenient, but I'd have stopped at nothing to end these war against this pest. When it was safe to come home, my boyfriend and I met at my place. We were home no more than two minutes before my neighbor drove in with her friend following behind in her car and quickly snapped up the remains of my auxiliary parking space. She
and her friend gabbed loudly about how inconsiderate I was for allowing my boyfriend to take up so much of my designated space, making it difficult for her guests to park in it. After being put out, literally, for a whole day over her and her husband's impositions I had reached my boiling point. I launched out of my house as if by dynamite and let her know I rather disagreed. She
stood frozen like a deer in headlights clutching her rat on a leash to
her chest. When I was done, I went back inside and overheard her
guest silently move her car into the auxiliary space.
And then this morning I found a tiny dog poop near my car...

My Rude Neighbor Story = I moved in almost two years ago. My neighbors were loud even then, but not too loud. They would wake every morning at 8 and play rock and roll on the radio. Next thing you know, neighbor and her boyfriend are fighting. She probably weighs 210 pounds, and hes 280 maybe so it sounded like freight trains rolling through. On top of that, they had a two-year-old who loved to jump off the furniture any hour of the day or night.
Once I called the management to report her, it got worse, but that didnt stop me. I kept calling in. One day she sent her mom over here. The mom was acting like she didnt know what was going on, and was trying to be a peacemaker, telling me how her daughter doesnt have any place else to go, etc... After our talk, the girl stopped for a while, but she eventually started right back up so I called in again on her, but the management company told me there was nothing they could do unless it was after 10 p.m., which I think is crazy.
Im still dealing with all her noise, and shes just bought a new boom box so now she's playing her music loud and clear-- the same song, at that. So now theres jumping off the furniture, running through the house, jump roping, and loud music. Whats next? What should I do?

My Rude Neighbor Story = Our RudeNeighbor Story in Truth:
My family is retired military and has lived all over the world and has always gotten along with our neighbors, never had a rude neighbor. Military usually stick together RIGHT? WRONG? When we retired we moved to the Midwest, we were born and raised here and never had a problem with anyone even 30 years ago. So now up to the year 2000, retired and bought a house, my wife took care of her Mother for the last 10 years of her life. We met all the neighbors in and around the house we bought, on both sides of us. We always talked to them at fenceline, no one in the area ever had block parties or welcome parties nor invited barbeques etc. Just visit over fencelines as we all worked and lead busy lives. In the Midwest, most people just have family gatherings & family & close friend things.
So, Neighbor #1 (this shall be known as PSYCHO NEIGHBOR #1 TO THE WEST, Neighbor), we visited at fenceline like all the rest, they were nice and we didn't pay much attention to their complaining about neighbors around them, every so often. First it was about the single divorced Mother on the East side of us, they complained about, how she didn't like them turning around in her driveway, etc, Psycho Neighbor #1 To The West likes to gossip, they are retired Airforce, we are Navy.,no big deal, we served our country with pride. Then Psycho Neighbor #1 TO THE WEST started complaining about the rental property on the other side of their house, Psycho Neighbor #1 To The West called police so many times on renters, the landlord could not keep his house rented and he knew it was because of Psycho Neighbors #1 . They called police on us (our house we own) Psycho Neighbor #1 To The West owns, also. The last renters to west of Psycho Neighbors #1 WEST , moved out at Christmas time and was so angry with Psycho Neighbors #1 that renters drove over all Psycho Neighbors #1 plastic 5' Snowmen in yard and busted them all to pieces, and threatened to get even with them.
Now in meantime, rental house to west of Psycho Neighbors #1 stood empty.....in the meantime, Father Psycho Neighbor #1 to the west must have gotten bored because NOW HE WAS GONE FOR A MONTH OR SO. (we think Psycho Neighbor #1 to west of us had a breakdown), Meanwhile all is quiet, FATHER PSYCHO NEIGHBOR #1 comes home and immediately calls police on his own son and kicks him out of house, FATHER PSYCHO NEIGHBOR #1 now starts mowing his lawn 4 times a week, and now starts calling the police on us for our golden retriever barking, he barked a couple of times to get in, after being left out to do his business (potty). Police came and said it was disturbing PSYCHO NEIGHBOR #1 to west. So we MAKE SURE OUR GOLDEN RETRIEVER DOES NOT EVEN HAVE A CHANCE TO BARK, we walk out with him in yard, and back in. Next, PSYCHO NEIGHBOR calls police again because we are parked over the sidewalk 1" blocking sidewalk, you know how sometimes your bumper is sticking over on your own drive, Police came and said we could not block sidewalk even 1/2". So Psycho Neighbor #1 to West called police several more time on blocking issue, he told them he wanted police to give us a ticket and was very angry when they did not.
Meanwhile, Behind Psycho Neighbors #1, The kids are crossing his yard from neighbors behind. Psycho Neighbor #1 goes ballistic and puts up wire fence from his side of house and was going to attach it to our fence, but we would not let Psycho Neighbor #1 to West of us, psycho neighbor hated those kids cutting through his yard, made him extremely angry, think he had another breakdown and was gone again for 6 weeks this time.
Now he comes home and sweeps the grass under a big tree out back with broom, so no leaves get on his lawn from his own tree!
By now, the whole neighborhood all around knows how many time he has called police on us and other neighbors, and now Psycho Neighbor #1 calls City Councilman who get involved, about rock on 1/2 of our drive, and tries to tell us that we cannot have rock in 1/2 of our driveway. Police arrive again to our door and apologize to us for coming again, and says they had a call from Councilman that rock is not allowed. By that time I had driven around our area and handed police 639 addresses of other people in our neighborhood that had rock in our drive just like ours, they stated a complaint had only been filed on us from Psycho Neighbor #1 on the west, we stated "if the police department had nothing better to do, we were making complaints against all 639 drives like ours" so now they had a lot of paperwork to do.
Psycho Neighbor #1 to West then called police because our porch light was too bright on them, police arrived again, and made us take it out, yes, we had to because it was a complaint, and now Psycho Neighbor #1 to the west, had researched the city ordinances and was going down the list on us. ....by now there were so many complaints by him, oh yes and also our large oak tree about 75 years old had a huge limb hanging over Psycho Neighbor #1's property he called and complained to the city arborist, who came out to inspect our tree and found a tiny spot on the tree that had to be cut out, which now was costing us $600 to have cut out, but not the limb that was hanging over Psycho Neighbor #1 to west's property. Really made him crack!!
By now we are really sick of Psycho Neighbor #1 to west, and he now has, rental property to west side of Psycho Neighbor #1 -- new neighbors! First thing that happens, new neighbors to west of Psycho Neighbor #1 receives flowers delivered for me, because psycho neighbor would not accept them, we met new renters on west side of Psycho Neighbor #1, very nice people those renters. Psycho Neighbor #1 to the west is mad because now we always speak to new renters to west of them and all the way up west to all houses and back of them and all over the neighborhood.
Latest edition is, we built a 6' cedar fence on side of pyscho neighbor #1 to west of us, and low and behold, we get a letter stating we have to have a detailed survey, our city survey will not do, because Psycho Neighbor #1 to west complained our 6' cedar fence was 4/100th of an inch on his property. Psycho Neighbor #1 to west was caught by us and electric company who was talking to us, Psycho Neighbor #1 to west was jumping on their trampoline (mind you not the kids ,the two crazy psycho adults) because after we put the fence up they could not see into our yard anymore and it really made them breakdown!! They finally did it and poisoned our little cocker spaniel, Dominic he was so loving, he ingested a piece of poisoned meat they threw over the cedar fence. We have a fenced in yard and he was outside going to the bathroom, our golden, Mighty Max and cocker spaniel, Dominic, we kept inside except we always walked them and then we played outside with them, but naturally you let them out to go when they needed to. Never in our wildest dreams, could we suspect they would get hurt or murdered!! We rushed Dominic to the vet but it was too late, he died on the way, we had the vet do an autopsy and he found the poisoned piece of meat in his stomach area. We love our animals so much, and such cruelty is heartbreaking. Even the policemen that they kept calling had some choice words to say, but they had to do their job. One officer had tears down his cheeks when he heard, he had always petted and talked to our little cocker spaniel when Psycho Neighbor #1 to the west complained.
By now you all must guess, attorneys have gotten involved and it is getting to be an expensive ridiculous, time-consuming, thing, when there is so much going on with the economy, the war, politics, and lifes problems in general, it is a crime the city still has to waste it's time and resources on a nutcase like Psycho Neighbor #1 to the west of us -talk about a rude neighbor.
Thank God we have our other neighbors all around us and in back of us. We fly the American flag and are retired navy after 30 years!

My Rude Neighbor Story = I live in a townhouse and up until June of last year it was a very nice, quiet place to live. In fact, I thought my neighbor lived alone- only later did I find out that a married couple lived next door they were so quiet. Well, unfortunately, the quiet couple moved and I now have the most inconsiderate, loud neighbors ever.
They have no business living in a townhouse community. It started with loud music (to the point that my kitchen wall vibrates)as early as 7am and as late as 3am. They always park right in front of my house regardless if anyone is parked in front of theirs, they sound like they are having WWE matches complete with body slams on top of the loud music, they put their "rat" dog out on the patio to bark inches from my windows, her son and his friends bully my son to the point he no longer rides the bus to school, the list goes on and on. Now, her boyfriend has moved in with her and her 2 kids and he's as loud as they are.
These people don't do anything quietly! You can hear them coming when they are still blocks away! Did I mention she put up wind chimes too! All I want is to be able to relax in my own home and not be tense all the time listening to their noise! It would also be nice to be able to park in front of my home once a while too! Hey, I can always dream!

My Rude Neighbor Story = I moved into a house 3 months after my son was born. My neighbor had two sons with behavior disabilities. Needless to say the single mom didn't help the situation she only provoked it. She would chain a basketball goal to the power line on the street right near parked cars. When her sons went to play basketball they proceeded to bounce the basketballs and themselves on other neighbors cars. Not to mention they were shooting hoops in the middle of a busy street. The mom would stand in the door and watch. When someone complained about property damage she would start an argument and eventually fight with
anyone who begged to differ. After the boys dented a car one day the whole street got very violent with fighting and later gun shots.

My Rude Neighbor Story = I have been living at my place for about four years now, and from the day that I moved in, I have never had any nice encounter with my neighbors. The neighbors right next door are retired 80yr olds, the old man is the most anal person in the world, he puts a bucket full of concrete in the middle of his drive way because he is afraid some one will use it to make a U-turn and crack his drive way, so everday, when he leaves, he will get out of his car, move the bucket, drive his car down the drive way, and put it back. He
has also come over to my house to yell at me saying my dog barks at him, and if he had a heart attack or fell because he was scared of my dog, he would sue us. And why does my dog bark at him? well he does not only trespass onto my property to use my water to water the small piece of grass between our houses, he intentionally provokes my dog, by watering into the air and when he thinks am not looking, spray my dog. He is also very nosy, when ever we have guests or a mechanic over at our house, he will be standing in his yard looking over, he has even called the land lord complaining our grass is not properly watered.
This house that I rent has it's garage in the back yard, so everyone in the house, which has four cars, park on the street, and since there are only three spots right in front of my house, sometimes we are forced to park on the street by his house, let me remind you that he has only one car and a two car garage. He has written numerous notes on my car demanding very unplesantly that I shouldnt park on the street by his house because he cant see when he backs out of his drive way, or he has guests comming, which he never does. If I do park there, he will put something right in front of my car so that when I leave, I have to back up first then leave. This is just the neighbor next door.
The neighbor across the street from me has a big family, there's one guy who is probably 40-50 that is jobless and is really creepy. Usually when I come home late at night, he will sit on the curb or in his car and stare at me until I enter the house. A few months ago, I was out of town, and my mom told me that he actually followed my roomate's sister into the house and tried to sexually assult her, she called the police and they took him away, but because my roomate's sister was scared, she did not file charges and they released him and now I see him walking around again. I really want to move but with the housing price these days, I just dont have a choice.

My Rude Neighbor Story = Neighbors let kids throw trash in our yard, write on our garage with lipstick, torment our dogs, yell and scream at us, make fun of our children. Also they mow their grass and shoot it over in my yard for me to clean up. Also their kids broke out a 4ft by 3ft by 6 inch deep hole in the pavement in our street that everybody has to drive around. Now are they rude neighbors? --Seth
My Rude Neighbor Story = I live by the rudest people I have ever met in met 42 years of life. The husband is a beer guzzling redneck that beats his wife. Not to mention she is all of 300 lb, to his 150lbs. go figure. I am a quiet person who minds my own business. These people are so loud. All you here is ###### you, mother######. THEY HAVE TWO CHILDREN WHOM THEY REFER TO AS YOU LITTLE MOTHER #######. I had to call D.C.F on these people because they get drunk and he beats her up in the front yard in front of their children. They have their redneck buddies over every week end where they hoot and holler and squeel there tires all hours of the night. It got so bad that I finally couldnt take it so I moved. So I suggest before renting or buying a home do your research, check out your neighbors. Its better to be safe than sorry.
--Denise
My Rude Neighbor Story = Have you ever had a neighbor that goes and complains to the landlord about everything that you do even though he does the same things he's complaining about? Well me and my wife have a neighbor like that! He tells the landlord that we slam doors, are loud, we don't mow our lawn-forgive us for having a life and friends-we don't feel the need to mow every three days. It seems that that is his favorite hobby, mowing the lawn.

My Rude Neighbor Story = My rude neighbor moved in just about a year ago. These are the kind of people you see coming from a mile away. These are the "WannaBe" rich people that think they are all that when they are far from! These are the people that helped the economy get where it is today! FYI... If you cant afford to purchase the home on your own, in your own name.... You cant afford it! If your cant afford the asking price and have to borrow over 80,000 from the builder, then not pay back a penny.... You cant afford it! If you cant pay your property taxes... You cant afford it! There are so many liens on the home I'm surprised its still standing. FYI TO ALL OTHER NEIGHBORS... All this information is is avaliable via the internet, public records. So, stop telling your friends your buying something bigger in better and that is the reason for your sale..... Lets be honest your bankrupt!
And just to let you know.... Just about anyone can go to budget rent a car and rent a bunch of nice cars. Why dont people like yourselfs actually try to pay for one. And instead of the lawn service... It wouldnt hurt to do it yourself and work off that huge ASS of yours. By the way, the language you use with your small children is uncalled for. Telling them they can go F*** themselfs... To get the f*** in the house... Calling then Ass*****, Well... lady the joke is on you cause you're on UTUBE doing so for all to see!!!!

My Rude Neighbor Story = I know this one deserves a certificate... Our new neighbors purchased the adjoining townhome as a foreclosure property. They seemed nice enough. We had them over for dessert after they got settled. Within a few months we noticed that they began planting aggressive vines and plants along our adjoining property line. We decided not to mention anything. Then we started seeing the husband building a wooden deck to cover half of their yard that had just been treated for termites. I then came home to find a hammock tied to my stairrail and his tree with him sleeping in it (middle of the day). I asked him to remove it. That must have been what ticked him off, because the next thing I new, I had come home from a two day trip and found that the side of my townhome facing theirs had been PAINTED a different color from mine!!! by him. Not only that there was splatter marks and paint drops all over my ac unit, my patio furniture, several collectable plants. I called him to ask why he had done it and his response was ..."I plan to keep going." The next weekend (Easter) we had left our third floor window open to enjoy the cool air when we were awakened by loud banging noises that sounded like somebody was trying to break in our garage door. It was 2am and all I could see from my third floor window was him with a friend unloading timber from the back of his pickup truck. We did not say anything. We missed Easter morning service for lack of sleep. The next evening we went to bed early and again left the window open...at 10:30 we started hearing power saws and banging around. I was dressed and down three flights of stairs so fast. I went to him directly and we almost went to blows. It has been almost a month now. They decided to rescue two very large black dogs who bark all day and night. All of our neighbors are ready to kill them. I suspect this story will keep going...but if this doesn't get a certificate...I really feel sorry for the person who does. Thanks so much for this website. It helps to know we are not the only ones going through something like this.
